Power steering problem

Hey Guys, my power steering is groaning like a right bitch and started last week but only when the car was stationary and turning from a junction but it now appears to be getting louder on a daily basis and its even doing it on the slightest turn of the wheel. So would I be right in thinking the pump or fluid would be causing this? There appears to be no leaks and the oil level hasnt moved at all since ive had the car (sitting on full btw). I am booking it in tomorrow to be seen at garage as mot is due next month anyway. But any clues to what could be the problem and how damaging its gonna be to my pocket would be helpful.

Well if you sure its not fluid loss then its more likely the pump groaning. The racks don't tend to get noisey, just leak like **** from by the gaiters

Is there any filters in the system that can put strain on the pump to cause the groan or is it simply the pump starting to fail?
