hi got a problem with my s3, its the APY engine,
standard engine other than a remap

sometime on idle its sounds like its misfiring, and the main problem is its not boosting right, 1st and 2nd gear all good but in 3rd and 4th gear when at 3200rpm it seems to lose alot of power, like if the turbo wasnt working.
    also kicks alittle black smoke.

first thoughts is boost leak but can see any or hear any, i have had it plugged in but cant find anything there.

anyone had same problem or help me out before putting money into it

    thanks

Take the turbo inlet pipe off, and feel if the turbo has excessive play, you need to go around all pipe work for splits etc...

Check the pipes under the inlet manifold for leaks even very small ones. I had this problem and this sorted it, leak was very small but enough to cause big headaches tracking it down,

Drove car early this morning, and in cold weather it seems fine,
