I have an '02 1.9TDI 130, when driving normally there is quite a bit of movement in the gearstick when lifting off the throttle and then applying the throttle again. i.e. when throttle is applied the gearstick will lurch forwards a bit then will come back when lifted off throttle. I know it can be normal for a small amount of movement but this is definitley way too much.

Any suggestions as to what may be wrong? Ive looked through the net and found that a perished snub mount can cause this sort of thing on the petrol engines but there dosent seem to be any info on the TDI's.

    Thanks for the help
