Playing Video on MMI

hi, i have a 14 plate Q3 with full MMI, i can play DVD movies not a problem but can't seem to get any video file to play from my iPhone through the AMi socket under the centre arm rest using the genuine Audi lightning connect

is there a setting I'm missing to switch on or plainly is it not support to work

As noted over at the q3ownersclub.co.uk forum, I've not seen any one get a lightning connector based phone/ipad to work.

Only the older 30pin connector devices.

Same on an A5 forum I found, there was a 14 page thread on different versions of the cable but none worked.
