I need to program some new keys, can anybody tell me if the 5 digit number on the key ring supplied with the car is the PIN I need to do it with VCDS? (Blacked out in pic under the number 12)

Thanks.

So I tried to code my new keys to the immobiliser today and VCDS is saying the PIN number supplied with the original keys isn’t the right one?!

It has had a new set of clocks fitted by Audi a long time ago, would this have changed the PIN number? If so what’s the best way now of retrieving it?

Thanks in advance.

Buy it online

Otherwise you can also try VAG eeprom programmer to pull your PIN

Remember to add a 0 to the beginning of the 4 digits that you see

I’ve ordered VAG Commander so I’ll see if I get any joy with it, if not I’ll be DM’ing you about VAG eeprom :thumbs up:.

Thought this would be a simple job but I should know by know nothing is simple with these cars!!

Thanks Ian.

It’s strange the one you showed originally did not work.

My understanding is if only one thing was changed. In your case - the cluster - the SKC should still be the same. Either way
- change of clocks
- change of ecu

The SKC should not have changed.

So maybe your little plastic tag is just wrong?

@IanPG Yeah the plastic key works and the valet key works that’s also attached to it. I’ve had the car since it was 2 years old so I can 99% say that it’s all the original.

It’s definately a strange one.
