TII, look forward to seeing them all fitted mate. Nothing wrong with a 1.9 tdi

thats true akash i wont lie and say the thing lol is a genuine s3 inside out.. its a personally choice that i've made for myself and personally im into the s3 look but thumbs up for the comment..

LOL good look out paddy..we'll keep you posted bud...

Hey, Akash, dont be mean. Im doing the S3 and mines not a 'real' S3 but I dont care! It has the heart of a lion to me!

TII, you do what pleases you, its your car after all, and its good to make it your own! Look forward to seeing the pics!

Sarah:rock:!!!! she's not having it, you cant beat her support man lol.. thanks.. yooo sarah, keep us posted on when your project begins you probably have some ill sh*t lined up..

I've been getting parts together for a while now, just waiting to get into the paint shop!

I dont mind comments, good or bad, everyones allowed their own comments and ideas. I just dont like people putting things down for no real reason or that someones is better etc etc, its not needed. This is a fab forum with great folk on.

so i've seen for the past year, definitely a well informative forum..

paint shop heyy!!! nice!!! you sound like you going the whole nine yards on this one...

should look wicked mate! :icon_thumright: dont really matter what engine it is mate... long as your happy!

i will say one thing though, i dont rate the Nurburgring sticker unless you actually been there.... bit embarassing imho (when people ask whether you been)

I really dont like the look-a-like theme at all, but its not my car so fair play to the OP if thats your thing.

Personaly a reckon if you want to change your A3 then a mix of Votex/OEM/aftermarket styling works better.
Or just go the full Votex route.
iirc Pete has gone the Votex route and it looks spot on.
3.2 but different without being look-a-likey.

my 2p, feel free to flame....

cheers
Paul

Well its actually a 2.0T, and with the mods its pretty quick if not tuned S3 quick. Also im not trying to make it look like anything else.
All i was saying the 'sporty' image will be somewhat ruined by the diesel clatter and slowness.
But good on you mate clearly not doing it half hearted mods wise.

not being mean just giving an opinion! hes a big lad sure he can take it. Just prefer abit more originality then copying a faster car but dont have the power to back it up.

trouble with all this is, someone on some other car website will post that he hammered an S3 at the lights in his stock wheel chair, with the quote 'i'm sure he really was trying'...

You are never going to be happy if you rate your car by how fast it goes. Someone will always blow you into the weeds.

fair play to ya lad. at the end of the day it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, as long as your happy with your ride, that's all that counts.

yes the s3 does look good, but not all can afford to buy one or (dare i say it)! actually want one

I'm with you on that:icon_thumright:

with price of petrol and fuel economy etc Tdi's make much more sense if you doing the miles... and u still want it to look sweet.

agreed with guy above. thiers always someone with summat faster...
9/10 i drive like a pussy anyway, sometimes have dog in boot, so no power blasting at the lights for me, might as well be a 1.2 for half my driving.
(then again i am trying to keep it prestine and clean at minute).

love to see what it looks like when finished
i have a 2.0 TDI sport and am fitting the S-Line kit on it, i like the way it looks. If i had the spare money to fit the S3 kit i would fit it... dont care that its not an S3, its the looks that i want.

Totally agree with you mate, i can't afford to maintain one, nor would i actually want one. strange as it is but i prefer the diesels, have been driving diesels for a few years now and i love them... affordable to run and not too bad on the power either.

Nothing wrong with a S3 look a like.

I am in the middle of building a full S3 replica at the moment with all genuine S3 parts including fully working adaptive bi xenons, hopefully will just look like an S3 but with a 2 litre diesel instead of the mighty TFSI engine. :)

exactly what i mean.

surely this is no different to people with pre-facelift 8p's adding the facelift lights etc?!?!?

people know what they like the look of, and if they can replicate, it why not.

would you shout at the missus if she came home with a boob job?!?!?!?!? didn't think so!!!

The sole objector has gone quiet so I think he has realised the error of his ways.

Still chuckling at the fact that he pulls someone up for trying to make their Audi look like another Audi, but has no problem sticking VW wheels on his one. :lmfao:

Error of my ways?is there a rule that says you can't have your own opinion without being blasted for it?
Also my R32 wheels are on an Audi which clearly looks like one and has no R32 or s3 badges for that matter so is clearly not trying to be anything else.

But admit it real ones still do look and feel a lot better?!

No rule against having your own opinions, but when expressed as you did you can't blame anyone for blasting you a bit.

Is the OP planning on putting S3 badges on his car??? Don't think so.
Will it still lool like an Audi??? I think so

But anyway, let me get your rules straight..... it's ok to put wheels on a car from another brand of car, but not ok to put the bodykit from the same brand??? :lmfao:

On a serious note though, I do kinda see the point you are making, don't agree with it though (as you might've guessed, lol).
The OP likes the look of an S3. Soooo... so what if he wants his TDi to look like one.
He started this thread cos he is a happy man with shiny new parts, and your comment was just a bit of a spoiler for spoiling sake, imo.

PS: Nice wheels. :icon_thumright:

JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR I AM NOT HATING OR TRYING TO PUT THE DUDE DOWN!
and in post #15 I did give him props for the work. so there.
Ultimately between the two functionality (whether performance or practicality wise) is my priority over ultimate style, hence why I chose a Sportback, and because I like 'sleeper' cars.
Id love a debadged E63 AMG wagon.

But the 'ring sticker has to go!

Good on you mate, as long as you are happy with what you are doing.
Only thing I would not do is put on the "Ring" decal if it was me. They are all too common now, and as already mentioned if you have not been there it kinda makes it worse. But hey, at the end of the day it is your choice.
Look forward to the pics when finished

Im all for improving a car while maintaining its identity, so the changes shouldnt be too radical IMO.
R32 wheels on a 20T, do make it look different, but it still looks like a 20T.
BBS rims on an S3, have a similar effect and so on.

Im just not getting the full cosmetic `conversion` to an S3.
Reminds me of the 90s craze of sticking XR3 body kits on Escorts pops.
All a bit naff.

That said, I take my hat off those for the sheer effort involved, cant deny that.

cheers
Paul
