..... I have say, very nice. Bit of a more solid ride than the VR6 but Ill get used to it:jump:

noticed though that the temp sensor didnt move off of zero which was a little concerning.

When I parked up the fan overrun went on for a short time but for all I know thats normal ; some boiler do that

    water temp sensor?

Welcome! Yeh temp sensor sounds about right or the thermostat stuck open possibly too, both pretty common.

common issue and nothing really to worry about. Did you road test thoroughly and it's just happened ?

To be honest, we went out on a 10 minute jaunt the day before. I was too busy listening for sounds to see right in front of me on the dashboard. Never had a turbo car you see:meeting:

If you look to the right of the engine block you should see a pipe with a sensor mounted into it (normally a green sensor). This is the CTS you can get a replacement from the dealers for not too much money. You just pull out the retaining clip (do it with a cold engine to minimise coolant loss) and then pull out the sensor. The new one should come with a new o ring so make sure you use that and then refit.

Thermostat isn't the hardest job in the world but is a bit fiddly due to the location. If you do want to replace it if the CTS does not fix your problem then I would recommend getting a new thermostat from the dealers again as they are a bit more expensive but much more reliable. Guides to replace can be found using the search function or via google.

whilst a stuck thermostat will usually make the engine run cold it certainly wouldn't be at 0°C.... change the CTS
