Its more the torque and improved economy I'm after. What torque is your S3 pushing out again? 315ft-lb? I'm looking for around 300ft-lb to be honest, alot of companies limit the torque on the DSG due to the clutch :asskicking: , I don't know why because I've read in 3 or 4 articles now ehere the clutches only need replacing once you go about 400bhp..

The torque measured with vagcom was 300 lbft and 315 HP. Your SB will certainly shift. Good job the DSG has 6 gears, it'll be changing up every 10 seconds! ;)

I hear Johns comment about changing often in a Diesel.

In my standard 155bhp (400nm torque) STTDCi Mondeo the powerband was roughly between 1800-3500rpm; a bit narrow but still it was fairly rapid.

After a while I purchased one of those plug-in digital chips bought from ebay for £100 (I thought what the hell at that price) goddamn what a difference!!:hubbahubba:

Newly transformed this blue oval demon. It used to motor through to 145mph in no time at all with ALL previous flatspots non-existant !!

The Powerband expanded right up to 4500rpm.

Damn i loved that motor, scared a few unwitting BMW drivers with it on the routine haul to work via the m1/m62

Seriously, that car changed my impression of the diesel engine (apart from the tractor sound in the morning before the engine was warm).

So to summarise (i do tend to go on a bit)

I hope that your map will also extend the powerband a little as my "Tuning chip" did :icon_thumright:

I thought the DSG only had 5 gears, boy I'm in for a treat. Thanks as well Leon, someone else on here says a map usually extends the powerband, I'll do some more chatting to some Revo dealers nearer the time. I understand the new S-Tronic 140bhp is 0-60 = 8s as standard that is FAST for a diesel, with a remap I will be scaring alot of people lol. Well when I need to.....thats the beauty eh, 500-600 miles to a tank, 300ft-lb, game over really. Cheers Leon and John

The DSG, although we should be calling it S-tronic, does have 6 gears.

If you drive it enjoying your newly found torque it wont be more economical...

Mine was revo'd and I never noticed any improvement with the economy, obviously it was a nicer car, if anything the economy went down as I spent most of the time I drove it enjoying the new found power!

The 140 S-Tronic isn't 8 seconds 0-60. Thats the same as my 170. It says 9.4 on the Audi site

Before the 170 came along the 140 2.0Tdi's where quoted as under 9 secs with the DSG being about 0.1 of a second quicker I think in the sprint.

Yup, they definitely quoted under 9 seconds when I bought mine.
My own acceleration tests backed it up.
Unfortunately, acceleration goes out of the window after that.
0-60 may be a shade under 9 seconds, but 0-100 takes 26 seconds.
    Continents move quicker.:whip:
A remap will knock the hell out of that though, I'm sure.

lol - thanks bowfer. Anyway 300ft-lb will be nice on the motorway, if I wanted power I would have bought an S3. Anyway, we've gone off topic with this thread as per usual I'll post up the reason why I asked for the picture very shortly...
