Finally got around to sorting out the chrome fails...

    Side trims all done
Front Grill all done + (S-line badge, which makes it a little more subtle) Waiting till I get an RS4 grill though really
Boot Trim - to be done

    (sorry iPhone photos)

Thanks man - happy I did it, makes it look much better.

thanks man - Yeh I used de-chrome vinyl wrap from ebay 30meter roll. I need to redo one section but ah well... will tackle it in the week haha. not noticeable until up close to it. I sprayed the front grill, scratched it up 1 x filler primer , 3 x satin black 2 x clear coat. should stop some chips...

thanks - yeh fair few ideas in the pipeline,

Two shots from E38 thanks to Simon - shame about how high it is! ah well custom lip soon! also think it needs a black plate delete on it, although this is the same colour as the grill, it stands out as a bit odd

    Looking good :)

I reckon you should wrap your plate blanking panel in gloss black, or get it colour-coded. I wrapped mine & it's holding up well. Looks much better than the old grey colour.

Yeh certainly going to do that over the next day or so - looks out of place now... I'll just match it to the grill surround.

    Anyhow - in other news....

After seeing some full black and some half matte headlights on B7s at the E38 weekend... I finally had an idea of what I wanted to achieve with mine. Had got hold of Bi-Xenon projectors, bulbs, ballasts and all bits needed to make my Halogen lights into Bi-Xenon projectors, missed the output from the ones I had on the TT and Golf. So with clear lenses on these projectors I'm hoping for a very good light output.

    Stripped lights out
    Took lights completely apart
    Sprayed them
    Installed Projectors
Finished shots to come. and a before/after light output.

slim pack mounted against the chassis out of the way, wires tucked away too - no annoying 'aftermarket' loom hanging about

More to come tomorrow when they're in and running / night comparison shots too.

Lights are done, back together and leveled up which took some fine tuning to ensure both beams where straight and aligned, still need some minor side to side adjustment at night.

    Here's some finished photos

    1 - Just Bi-Xenons
    2 - Bi-Xenons and Fogs
    3 - Fogs
    4 - Off

Those interested they are 5000k bulbs for white light.

Finally got some dark shots of the light out put. Dipped and Full Beam. The tunnel photo shows the increase of full beam very well.

haha my bad, however... People in the USA have also noticed that the lenses of the OEM projector is "frosted" whereas mine is clear. You can, and people have on the A4 and other Audi models done a lenses swap for the projector it's self. "STI lenses swap, A4 B7" or something like in google should take you to audizine for info

Is yours the 5.0 or 6.0 MH1. Its funny how some of the pictures you see on the net of the morimotos have the blue cutoff line without any mod done to it. Mines has a yellow cut off which sort of suck, but mind you light output is bonkers.

Like how you kept the rings silver  think it looks allot more OEM that way as most people go blacking out everything. Beautiful car!

Took a trip to see olly and get my gearbox mount sorted as well as fitting some DTM tips I've had for over a year. Also got the mufflers out and let some of the V6 exhaust note out. Sounds ace in the car and on the drive. Cruising you can't hear any rumbles or intrusive drones. Lovely.

Sadly I didn't come prepared with enough stainless bends or straights. So olly couldn't work his magical tig skills but with some straight pipe and a bend with perfect welds and using OEM hangers the tips are central and sit very well

    Hi Ed,

Beautiful car at first! That hp can get higher if you mount a downpipe. 300hp for sure.

I own also a A4 B7 3.0TDI. Now is the moment that i want to get over the 700NM.

How is your experience whith the one mass flywheel and organic plates? Also can you tell me where you bought this set please?

Is it not better to use a dual mass flywheel whith organic plates or will the dual flywheel not hold 700nm?

    Waiting for your anwser.

    Thank you!

Yup with a better flowing down pipe it would breathe better and hit closer to 300bhp but the turbo would be maxed out and I don't want to run that high. Sticking with what it is. I will sort the down pipe soon.

The clutch kit took a long time to sort. All the advice was aimed that with the ftlb as high as it is a dual mass wouldn't last as long and could disintegrate. I didn't want paddle so this option suited best.

Heres a direct link to the kit Sachs Performance Kupplung Set mit Einmassenschwungrad organisch 883089000086

And the full research thread here

    Hope that helps.

Thank you! The link you provide is a bit expensive. I take it at darkside development whitch is better in price then.

Do you have noise on idle ore vibration when driving the car whith thos clutch and one maas flywheel?
