PD130...turbo whine on load?

Noticed today while driving into town....

On load at around 2600 to 3200rpm the Turbo sounds very load..I know the PD130's are quite whistly anyway but this is more of a coooo in he car?

Any ideas? It is only under load

Could be a boost leak causing the turbo to work harder...

It could be that the turbo is getting a little tired (good excuse for a upgrade/hybrid)
How many miles has it done?

Its a really strange sound...not the normal whistle of a turbo, almost like the noise when u blow over the top of an empty bottle? by a higher pitch.

I had a 2.0tdi golf into my workshop two weeks ago for this exact thing. We renewed the turbo, it was fubared.

My old Fabia VRS did exactly this! When I removed the turbo, the shaft was bent. Never seen that before!

Its strange...not done it today? Or yesterday when it was warm?
