With respect, what did you expect fella, goto them, waste there time for a part number, then buy it on ebay, can you not see how they would think thats taking the piss a bit?

Again with respect not every one can afford to buy genuine Audi parts we are in a time of Resesion and considering the cost I just enquirered to the original part number to see if the was an alternative out there and make a decision but Alas it seems I will be purchasing it from tps any way

Oh come on fella, you were only just recently saying you were getting a remap, egr/dpf delete iirc on another thread, you cant plead poverty now when that lot isnt exactly £50 is it, lol.

Anyway, I agree with audi/tps, they cant sit there all day looking up parts to hand out numbers to people on the phone without getting any business, they have to be paid somehow, this isnt a dig at you, just a general pov as allot of people do this without even a thought for the time it takes/costs the dealership/tps to research the parts for the possible customer & then they come on the forums & whinge about it.

I agree with you nhn but when I spent the best part of £250 buying they parts to service my vehicle from my local Audi dealer they can't complain that haven't spent any cash with them I thought a bit of customer service wouldn't go a miss like you said if had cold called not having any previous dealings yes I would say no to giving the part number but again spending my money I thought they might be helpful. And now these problems are sorted I'm taped out due to the unexpected costs what with the blue smoke issue now the lambda sensor. But all the same thanks

And thank you johnythepioe for the part number

I think the dealer should give you part numbers, if you need to replace something on their brand of car then it's almost a "right".

If they can't price parts keenly enough, then that's their look-out.

    Competition I think it's called.
