Painted calipers

    Fitted some new front brakes to my car yesterday. Standard discs with Pagid Fast Road pads. While I had it in bits, I carefully applied a coat of silver hammerite to the calipers. See pic below. I think it looks good. Much better than the dirty black they were before.

    Only problem I have now is bleeding all the air out of the system. Pedal feels like a big sponge at the minute. I clamped the brake hoses before removing them to stop air getting back up, but I can't of clamped them hard enough.

    personal taste i guess.. plus it matches the car colour.

    I did think about red, but wanted a nice subtle look. It matches the car colour quite nicely too.

    Very nice, i'm amazed no one ever paints their callipers beige though.

    will hammerite stand up to the heat generated during braking?
     
  8. I painted mine with black hammerite over 12 months ago and they still look fine. i also went for the subtle look.

    You can get a high temp version.
     
  10. i used normal car paint on mine and after 6 months they are still ok.
