While happly on my way to work this morning a deer decided to 'try' and cross the road before I got there clearly it wasn't thinking about my new 6 month old 170Q S-line 'BASTARD'
So now I've got a loverly car with a great big hole in the front with a lovely faded red to blue paint effect and stinking to high hell of dead deer 'lucky me'

Top marks to Audi tho rang assist and they organised to get it towed and to an dealer where all the work is going to get sorted 'hopefully'

lucky escape mate, could have been a lot worse.

(I swerved to avoid a rabbit a week ago and almost ended up in a ditch). On reflection I should have mown it down but didnt want to get the alloys messy. :)

I've seen cars that are unrecognisable after hitting deer, it might not feel like it, but count yourself lucky it didn't roll up the bonnet and come through the windscreen.

Sheep are a hazard up here too.
They're a little easier to predict than deer though.
I once came steaming round a corner (in a Rover 220Gti..cool) to find a bloody bull in the road.
How the hell I missed it is a blur of wheel twirling, tyre smoke and relief there was nothing coming the other way.
Can you imagine hitting a bull ?
    Jesus !

Reminds me of a friend of ours, years ago.
There we were, sitting outside the local shop minding our own business.
Our mate's Viva comes round the corner, sounding like a right bag of nails.
Not a window left in it,grass all over the place.
He'd swerved to avoid summit, went over a wall, rolled into a field and ended up back on his wheels with the engine still running.
So he simply drove off before the farmer found out.
The farmer would have known him and made him pay for the wall you see.

As previously mentioned, you are lucky the car isn't a write-off. A friend of mine wrote off an Audi 100 years ago when a deer jumped into the road in front of him when he was doing 60mph.

A Colleague driving through New Forest early one morning hit a deer, popped his bonnet, deer went under the vehicle pulled the rear axle clean off and he ended up hitting an oncoming car killing the passenger, he was driving a Discovery V8 !

Butchers will give you a fair bit up here for a deer.
    Subsidise the repair a bit.

A friend of my father once had a cow hurdle a low hedge between a field and the road (somewhere near Mold, North Wales) and land on the bonnet.

Now a horse, maybe. But a cow?!
