Hi all,
Just purchased an A3 TDI 140 (2006 reg) at the weekend! I absolutly love the car, a great drive and very comfortable!

I have found a problem with the outside temp reading, its currently showing -40... somtimes dropping and somtimes a little higher, but its not that cold out side! maybe 7 degrees!? (i have checked and it is on celsius not fahrenheit)

Does anyone know of a fix for this? Or where i can buy a new sensor?

Any help or ideas would be great!
Thanks

Buy new sensor as mis-readings will also affect the aircon. Try GSF for one. If your lucky they'll give a parts drawing indicating location on the car.

iirc it is a nightmare to change, the front bumper needs to come off to get to it... mine went last year and it was £70 on parts and labour to do this, i managed to get the part from another 8p2

ambient (outdoor) temperature sensor

check out Stoke Audi and contact Dave for the part number. Its on here... scroll down from the forums list. You just need to PM him your chasis number to get the right part. Or hopefully someone will be along here soon to give you an idea of the part no.
