    Hey Guys,

I'm in two minds about changing to these smoked rear lights or just standard facelift lights - current are the pre-face lift!

They are brand new and I can get them at a great price - $80 AUD

Has anyone got these and Is there any pics with these lights on a S3/A3 or even a brilliant black?

    Cheers,
    Steve

This is mine with the smoked rear lights :)

The car came with both the smoked and standard rear lights so I had a choice :) I went for the smoked :)

Not keen on smoked lights on a black car, too much black IMO. Keep it standard or go facelift I reckon.

They are legal in the UK - you just have to attach additional reflectors to the back of the car. Not sure what the rules are in Oz.

All personal choice but i think dark rear lamps look much better on light colour cars than they do dark ones, black on black I dont think would look that good, but it's your car and what works for someoene may well not work for others.

Thanks guys for pictures and feedback. I reckon I'm just going to to stick with facelift rear lights as it just gives it the updated look. Now to just find some. Oz eBay only has a seller that sells aftermarket facelifted versions but would prefer OEM type

I think blacked out lights are very 90s, the Yellow S3 pictured above pulls it off though, I've seen Silver ones with the smoked lights, and it makes the car look older in my opinion.

For the best possible feedback though, here's pics of mine with both so you can decide for yourself! :)

I prefer prefaclift on a black car
The whole red lights look better than having broken it up with the silver part on the facelift version
but then vica versa on a silver car
    imo

Face lift ones are so much nicer. Just make it look a lot more modern, even though its just a tail lihgt change.

Do you have to upgrade to brighter bulbs, just put mine on today but lights are (obviously) dimmer

I think they look good on the yellow I doubt they would on the black unless they were very lightly smoked. Personally I'd stick oem facelift

I quite like the older retro rears, that's just me though. The yellow one does looks the business however.
