Just been speaking to AMD and have the following answer.
The rolling road was not putting out a corective BHP figure which AMDs rollers do. They pulled out my files and with the results from last Sunday they made the calculations and said that mine is still 228.
It is to do with the intercooler temps and a loss thingy. And the recreation of the wind cooling speeds.
    So im happy again.
So some of the cars could be putting out more power than they actually are.

170 bhp its more of a cruiser as its a V6 not really instant power as mayb a 1.8T

The 2.4SE Tiptronic is the luxury model in the B5 line-up. It's a beaut of a car if it's what you're after, fast without being mega-quick, but very very smooth. I came very close to buying one two years ago, but my wife didn't like the cream leather & dark wood colour combo, &I didn't like the £15K price tag for a W-reg

Just as we were walking back to our car (T-reg A4 1.8 non-turbo Auto), I saw the silver 2.8Q Tiptronic lurking at the back of the forecourt with a £12K sticker on it. We drove it, we bought it.

It's got 193 bhp, but the combination of four wheel drive, tiptronic auto and very high gear ratios means it's probably no faster on 0-60 than your 2.4. I've never timed it, but it's as fast as I need it to be.

As to your question about the price, it was all of those things. It had done a lot of miles for a 3 year old car, wasn't in the best of nick (see my posts about the wheel bearings from 2 years ago), plus the fuel consumption on the 2.8Q Tip is scary. It ranges from a low of 19mpg urban to a best of 31mpg touring.

The car's now coming up six years old, has done 69k miles, is probably worth about £6k max, but is in great nick thanks to a lot of TLC on my part.

I wouldn't part with it for the world.

As far as pics are concerned, I don't have too many (it's the car in my avatar), plus Ii haven't figured out how to post pics on the forum since it was facelifted. PM me with your email address, and I'll send some to you.
