This question will vary dependant on age, but anyways, I had a bit of a brainwave this morning of what film I'd like to watch on TV?

Anyone remember the film D.A.R.Y.L? Film about a little boy with a computer implanted brain, the scene I most remember is him playing on the then F1 computer game 'Pole Position' at full pelt, which is basically impossible, but he completes the game! Lol. Thought it was awesome back in the day!, I was 8 years old at the time mind....

    Showing my age huh?

Heard Mark Kermode reviewing it on 5 Live on Friday afternoon. The most positive thing he could say was that it wasn't as bad as he had been expecting it to be.

can't see how it'll ruin the original, the original will still be around and unaffected - if anything, it might shine even more if the remake's awful. the original stills and teaser left me cold, the newest trailer got me a little interested. still think the original is a stunning film, like Predator it hasn't aged at all.

Robocop is one of my all time fave films!!

The new one does look interesting, but I dont know if it will be as good as the original.

BMX Bandits is a film I would like to see again though or maybe the Never Ending Story, that was a classic too.

My idea of old films only stretch back to late eighties early nineties :(
Although i cant think of any that i've watched recently or would like to see.

Personally i hate the original Robocop, and dont expect the new one to be much better. Like an iron man but with no humour or personality

Young Frankenstein! Gene Wilder is a great actor. As were Marty Feldman (Igor) and Peter Boyle (The Monster)

Have it on Sky+ and watch it once a month! lol

The Wanderers and One Flew Over A Cuckoo's Nest.

They were the first films I ever rented after persuading my mum to hire a Betamax player. I paid for it using my paper round money.

Its shocking to see how old some films are sometimes.

I saw Heat on TV recently and remember it being the 1st DVD i purchased, i pressed the info button thinking i remember the shoot out scene on my first surround sound package a few years ago......it turns out it was 18years ago!!!

I wont even get started on the Rocky series!!

karl, there are good films that was made before the 80s.
I just ordered the Superman box set and the first superman was out in the late 70s.

Apocalypse Now is a cracking oldish film.
so is One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

    Don't forget Starcrash. :)

I think the modern day version of Porky's is the American Pie Series.

Cant beat the original though :)

    > Le Mans
    > 2001 A Space Odyssey
    > The Vampire Lovers
    > Salem's Lot
    > Cannonball
    > Death Race 2000 (the original)
    > The Twins of Evil
    > The Doctor Phibes Trilogy

Haven't seen most of them for over 10 years +, but stuff like the Hammer series and old car films don't seem to garner any interest on mainstream Sky movies which we have. Unless it's got gun or love they're not interested!

I had my appendix removed when I was 14 after suffering peritonitis. I watched this movie the day after coming out of hospital and laughed so uncontrollably hard it caused bleeding around the stitches in my gut!!

    So many.

Thinking back through some of my old films and made me think of:
    Sole Survivor
    Colour Purple
    The Philadelphia Experiment
    Hysterical
    Top secret

I got all them on Betamax. I need a new top loader I think.
