Old 1.6 diesel to new MY15 plate 1.6

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had moved from the original 1.6 to the new one.

Found the old one to be quite noisy and hoping they have refined it in the newer models.

I have the 1.6 tdi in my A3 and it's not noisy at all!

Hope so as although it's economical and uses no oil it's not what you could call quiet!

Hopefully the same is true for the A1 then, the A3 is a very acoustically quiet car so that could have something to do with it.

Yeah, I've noticed the difference from other cars. But even standing outside the car or driving 'enthusiastically' it's not over gruff...as some other diesels I've driven.

Well my partners A1 now is a little gruff so hoping her new one will be more refined.
