I've pursuaded the misses we need a V8 in our lives as the practical car and loving the look of a B7 S4 and prices are keen.
Plan is to still keep the S3 for her to use and me sometimes as love it but we need a bigger boot with Sprog.
People of the forumn convince me to do it!!

Pffff.....how much convincing do you need? If you can afford to run it ( fuel, brakes, 4 tyres at a time ), and handle any unexpected garage bills....flippin go for it!....take your time, do your homework and get a good one with FSH history and more.. if that's humanly possible!...oh, an buy one before the sprog comes along....cause the costs of running one of them....she might think again!

    Good Luck,

If you are OK with mid-teens MPG around town, and mid to high 20's on a run.. then do it - if only for the sound!!

I will have had mine for 3 yrs come August, and I still crack the window and drop a cog or two for every tunnel lol

If I had the money I would go for a top nick late B7 RS4.....If I was on a budget S4 B6. No automatic box...4.2 natch , no bling bling original nick with service history, plus dental records of previous owners! hahaha any colour but black.

You are so lucky in the Old Country....they are at give away money there...up here, a skanky S4 B6 with 200k km's is still going for 12 Grand Engrish Pounds!....depressing so it is!

    Cheers

Good Luck and keep us in the loop.

    eventhough i drive a B7 i still prefer the agressive look of a B6. S4 B6 but B7 RS4 would be my ideal cars

im sure you ll find a good one, you just need to be patient the right one will come up.... if you have convinced the wife that is! when we bought ours we put a deposit on one and a few hours before collecting it we stumbled across the one we eventually bought, it was a replacement for a highly strung nissan skyline r34 that had seen many track days and never let us down in our 5 years of ownership so had a lot to live up to and although we have had the s4 for 9 months now i still have a huge grin every time i drive it and i cant get enough of the sound, the face ache is dead worth it!!!

If you can afford to run it....why the f&ck shouldn't you buy one! It would only be comical if you went ahead without doing your sums and realising you couldn't afford to run it,or you bought a total lemon that bankrupted your wallet and your soul! Take your time, bag yourself a good one and make us all green with envy!

    Cheers
