ok so i sold my old modded A3 a few months ago to get a newer, lower mileage one, which is great but i'm getting bored!! so i think it's time for some new wheels!!

I'm after an OEM look but i'm running out of OEM wheels that i haven't had before, so far i had;

momo arrows 17"s ok not oem
TT polished comps 17"s
TT six spokes 17"s
TT rs nine spokes 18"s
TTv6 seven spokes 18"s
Oettinger five spoke split rims 18"S

so was thinking about A8's or some BBS style wheels,

not sure? any other ideas?

'nuff said.

Failing that (recognising massive expense); the Nuvolari / RS007 type ones that have started to appear...

damn i love those MTM bimoto's, but at 19", they're just too large to be comfortable.

why not try to get a set of the new TT sport alloys. 18" multispoke. not seen a set on an A3/S3 yet but they might look cool and would definately be different

i'll give the A8's a miss then!!! i wasn't too sure on them, and they are getting common now.

Think the bbs style would still be good but they always look quite small because of the thick rim. Not sure about the TT multispokes, i've seen that pic of r32 wheels on an s3 and they didn't look good, not sure if the tt ones would do the same?!

MTM!! if only! don't mind the rs007 ones but never look quite as good as the real thing!!, i'll photoshop some on and post it up, always look a bit to much like RS4 ones, those other new tt Nuvolari ones might be good kinda the same but different if you know what i mean!

new rs4 wheels, i'll have to check those out, haven't seen any with correct stud pattern like you say

was thinking about mk5 gti alloys? think you can get reps, but not sure on the finish, i'll do a photoshop of those as well

god i'm more lost than ever!!!
thanks for all the feedback

Not a fan of them either. I like the MK5 GTi, but I think them wheels spoil it. Aren't they only 17's as well?

Standard is 17", but 18" in the same design is an option.

Hey go easy on those A8 rims... They're REALLY beautiful /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh_roll.gif

...My Grandma used to have a salad spinner; which I used to have great fun playing with the lid to (it's amazing how amusing things can be when you're 4).... and I've always found the A8 rims to be quite reminiscent of that... and as such something you shouldn't really see on an Audi!

Still, to each his own though; and fair play to those who do like them.

Regards,

Rob.

PS> I forgot to mention... http://www.wheel-base.co.uk/site/ is a place I was tipped off about by a friend at work who uses them for tyres for his R32; and I noticed in the "Wheel Selector" on the top-right (not shown from the Products link on the left); there is an Audi/VW style section; which contains RS4's (original, not new B7) slightly cheaper than Rochford; the same story on RS6; and 18" Nuvolari reps and rubber (presumably average, but upgradable) for £650 plus £20 delivery. I don't know if they're the multi-drilled efforts you see on eBay (which I'm not sure I fancy); but I'm certainly going to be enquiring when my tyres need changing.

I didn't know how many people on here knew about the site so figured it was worth a mention...

Regards,

Rob.

Also, I found a nice shot that shows off the wheels on the Nuvolari; and it's enough to make me seriously consider bashing the plastic again... CLICK (Then hit "See Full Size Image") - Server detects link referrer...)
