17" RS's won't clear S3 brakes I don't think....that must be on air too....not the best looking Mk5 i've seen
Not the best either but still stunning looking!
I have a big urge to go low with some nice sparkly BBS wheels..
Really like the Audi Mesh wheels but cant find the right size, Im after 19x8 ET52 so I can slam the car without the rubbing issues!
I don't think they made them in 19x8? - thought it was just 8.5 (BBS) and 9 (Speedlines)?
I could get you some 18" RS's in 5x112 like the above that would clear brakes but they aren't cheap at all.
as nice as it looks its all show and no go, i bet it sucks a55 up a b road. i like to drive my cars these days.
On air you could raise it and adjust the pressures to tailor the ride (from soft to hard at hell and anywhere in the middle), as well as adjusting the height.
It's possible to make cars with air suspension handle as well as coilovers, just costs stupid money. (That's if it is on air)
Ah ok thats what it is then, there is a set of Speedlines for sale but im getting the BT in the next couple of weeks so I cant afford them at the moment, gutted..
Had some pretty cool plans for them too..
I would never go Air ride, just as low as Jordans car, think thats perfect!
Aye i suppose your right i never really considered air bags, if youve got silly cash to spend then go for it.
I'd rather have a big turbo than some fancy wheels mate, you do right
Give me a shout when you're looking for wheels again and i'll give you a hand....offer still there for you to try mine too.
Blimey - different opinions is what makes us human but I genuinely wouldn't drive round in that if it was given to me for free. Looks like Shrek has sat on it - then got up and chucked rotten tomatoes at the wheels. Hideous.
And those wheels. Bloody awful.
Not my cup of tea either. A bit OTT
Must say jonny that your current vehicle looks much better than that...
not a nice looking golf at all, just doesn't look right....
Yep we're all different - i think that looks *****
Not my cup of tea either.
Boring colour, horrible wheels, too low and that's all that's been done to it isn't it? It's just a standard Ed30 bodykit yeah?
Come on guys, thats someones pride and joy.
Pisses me off this place sometimes
rant over lol
I quite like it, I would have the wheels painted a different colour though
Noone on here though so what does it matter?
Jonny posted it here to get people's opinions. If it was his own car then I'd just say something subtle or nothing at all.
You've got to be cruel to be kind sometimes L6ON. If he does that to his car and everyone just says 'That's great mate' what will he do next ? Decorate it in vomit ? If opinions are asked for (which they were) they should be given honestly. If they're not asked for they shouldn't be given at all. I obviously wouldn't walk up to him in the street and say to him: 'Oi your car looks ridiculous' as that would be offensive (and true).
Ignore me mate, im in a foul mood today. grrrrrrrr
Why Leon what's happened?? Do you need a huuuuug?
I like it, only thing i'd change is the centre colour.
I think OEM+ is for people with absolutely no imagination at all......there I said it.
Looks like the suspension has collapsed and those wheels look like roulette wheels.
More 5's on roulette's
Coilovers and some phat 19" wheels are next for me I reckon...
OMG, the valve-cap is a dice. They REALLY are meant to look like roulette wheels!
They're a design classic.
My mum drives a sportback and doesn't get them either so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Loving the white/purple combo!
There are lots of design classics - doesn't make them any good. Those wheels, design classic or not, look like 4 of these stuck on the side:
I agree that OEM can be modified - but who wants to end up like this (which is where the line between imagination and bad taste is drawn - a line that Golf has definitely crossed).
Yes, I can closely see the relationship between that picture you've posted and a Mk5 golf that's had nothing bar a change of wheels and suspension.
I can see why people go for certain cars, even if I don't agree with their tastes.
That grey Golf at the top of the page though.
I'd have thought that was universally viewed as comical.
It's just ludicrous.
Good - then you can see where we're all coming from. The relationship is one of bad taste and a keen eye for the grotesque.
I am well aware your mum has good taste in rides.
I can't get on with with this forum anymore - ciao people.
Hopefully see a few of you guys at edition! x
Nice tantrum - are you actually old enough to drive ?
See you there......
