    Hi,

Just installed new shifter bracket bushes on my car, and re-installed the shifter bits and now the gears aren't slotting in so nicely, and I can't get reverse.

Is there a specific position the shifter needs to be in before I re-attach the shift cables?

    Cheers,
    JB

What sifter(s) have you fitted? What settings are they on? Have you done the gearbox resest?

    Hi Dani,

Just re-installed the standard shifter. Do I need to do the reset even if I haven't installed a short-shifter?

    yup, needs resetting mate.

Pull the gaitor off and you'll see a small hole in the stick, which lines up with a hole in the base. drop a 4mm allen key down there to fix the stick in one place.

On the box, there's a little lever sticking out, wiggle the shift weights around until you get this lever to move in and turn 90 degrees to lock it, then pull back the spring clips and let the cable ends sit as they want to. release the sprung part, pull the pin out at the box and pull the allen key out at the stick and it should all be lined up :)

Are they the ones from 034 motorsport of something, their billet or steel instead of the rubber standard ones?

As prawn has said you need to reset the gearbox no matter what.
