Looks a bit like the Opel Speedster\Vauxhall VX220 a bit from that angle.

To my eyes it looks a bit like the illegitimate love child of an MR2 and VX220.

Far prefer the R4 idea/concept drawings that were kicking about.

After i read that 'leaked' list of Audi launch dates for the next 5 years or so, i'm little concerned Audi are losing the plot.
I'd like to see them perfect their existing models and get them technically bang on and reliable before they try cornering every possible market place.

Just off the top of my head the all new models which are to be released include the R4 roadster, Q3, A7, A1 etc, not to mention the new versions of the current range which will be released.
They also seem to be releasing a million different variations on every model... A5 cabriolet and sportback, which will also be available as the RS5 (yes...sportback. WTF?), R8 in V10, targa and diesel guises, TT-RS (no doubt an RS3 will follow) etc etc etc.
It's ridiculous. They're obviously trying to cover every possible base and i think they're losing the plot. The understated classy design philosophy went out the window a while ago which is only proven by this R4 roadster hair dresser wagon.

I'd just like to see Audi get their base range of cars perfect before expanding the range because build quality will only get worse.

I'm pretty sure Auto Bild are something to do with Auto Express or very similar.

And Auto Express aren't renowned for being very accurate with information or their half arsed renders!

After talking to my local Audi dealer a week or so ago when he was trying to sell me a TTS he told me that Porsche had bought into Audi in order to aquire some VAG Technology, more specifically the S-Tronic gear box.

    .............interesting enough.

Complete with some strange looking buttons on the front of the wheel for changing gear manually with. And both sides do up and down changes....

Porsche really don't need any technology from Audi but they do now own the controlling majority of the VAG group. Simply a business move to expand their selling potential and overall market share i suppose.
If there is any cross over technology then Audi will benefit more so.... If the TT-RS drives anywhere near as well as a Cayman S we'd all be happy.

VAG Diesel engines are probably the only thing I can see them using in the immediate future.

Their own double clutch gearbox has been in development for many years according to the press articles. I wonder if it changes up for you when you dont want it to like DSG!!!

Please god don't ever let me see the day when a Porsche has a derv lump in it!!!

The only good outcome which can come from this is.....
Porsche scrap making the cayenne and scrap the plans for the 4 seater and put those resources into Audi. Then downsize Porsche, regain focus and continue making the best sportscars they possibly can under the Porsche banner (like they used to before they kissed American arses and released the Cayenne).

Porsche have a controlling share in VAG.

Porsche are going to use VAG diesels in the Cayenne.

Thats as much as I know.

Sort of agree here, cant help but think that the big awful looking Cayenne is diluting the brand a little.
A 4 seater isnt such bad idea though, Ferrari and Masserati have done it to reasonable effect.
Dont think we need a derv Porsche sports car yet.

The only 'pin up' cars Porsche have made in recent years is the GT (now discontinued) and the GT3 RS. Everything else is technically brilliant but quite ordinary to look at and generally quite....safe.
I'd LOVE to see Porsche make some bonkers no hold barred sports cars again. Hopefully they can push the design of more conservative models onto the Audi side of things and let the Porsche designers concentrate on wht they do best.

P.S.... Ferrari have always had a history of 4 seater GT cars, Porsche haven't so i can only think they're expending into other markets when they really should be concentrating on putting the carrera back ontop of the supercar market. It has lost ground in recent years to the R8, Maseratti etc etc.
