Number plate light

Hi all,
I have a small problem, my MOT is due on Monday so have spent lunchtime having a look at all the usual bits on the car, I have noticed one of my number plate lights is not working, I've had the trim off the inside of the boot and cant see any loose connections, I have also cleaned the contact for the bulb and tried replacing it with the other one which i know works...
I'm a bit stuck for ideas really.

have you tested to see if you have power there ???? iirc the bulb clips to the lens then pushes in and holds in place with 2 screws

a cheap screwdriver tester will do, you know the onw with the bulb in the handle or a multimeter

Yeah I've checked with a multimeter and there is no voltage at all.

can you link the power from the other number plate light ???? otherwise its tracing time to find the break in the circuit
