number plate light not working

my number plate light has stopped working and theres no power to it .. i no it has no fuse im thinking it could be a broken wire .. could anyone tell me witch side of the boot the wire comes in on and what coulor the wire is .. audi a4 cabriolet 1.8t 2004 quattro

mine did this i used some wire wool on the inner terminals and worked right away seemed it had abit of corrosion on it

[FONT=&quot]Same with mine, the left one had some slight corrosion in it so I cleaned it up in the same manner, the right was knackered, corrosion all over the place.

I swapped them out for a pair of LED units.[/FONT]

i only cleaned them up 2 weeks ago also no power is there at contact points
