Why couldn't they have just rung you and said "come in, lets sort this" and then give you an awesome customer experience to which you'd come back to the forum and say "actually, they're pretty sound guys!".

Threatening you won't help. At the end of the day, no company has 100% positive feedback from all customers, they should take ALL feedback on board whether it's positive or negative.

I can't fault my local dealer, lovely bunch of people :).

I know mate I gave them the option this morning to resolve it i even stepped up and apologized shame they couldn't.

I even offered to take down all posts regarding them.

As angry as i am i do not wish anyone to be sacked.

A sorry and a sale would have solved this whole issue, now it is down to Audi uk, ridgeway group & trading standards e.t.c to do what they feel necessary.

Problem is, if its more than iirc 8k, they wont accept it, was told this by one of the top 3 dealers in the country, laundering laws etc prohibits & curiously I asked, what if I brought you 5k a day, she said, nope still cant accept, has to be bacs, card or finance, now this may have changed since, but cash means nothing anymore to these guys, imagine saying that 30 years ago, lol.

You have every right to be angry. All you wanted was to purchase an Audi. This dealership has denied you that opportunity and has caused you unnecessary stress. Whether that person is sacked (or at the least reprimanded by their managers), they brought it on themselves. There is no one to blame here except themselves, and you have done nothing wrong. If nothing else, I hope that Audi UK will show some common sense and treat you as you should be treated.

It's definitely a reflection on him and how he "runs" his business. I made a few threads about the VW DSG gearbox back in the days and went to the VW dealership in question but they didn't care less about my thread as they believed I was entitled to my opinion. I did not implicate people but rather the 'service' and the lack of quality of the product. The managers were always understanding and supportive as much as they could be. In your case, I think this manager actually needs some "training" or a refresh on "customer service". Either that or he is clearly in the wrong line of work if he is going to throw his toys out of a pram and be defensive rather than helpful. To think that simple situations can be avoided if people just act right in the first place without getting over emotional or taking it personally. Some dealerships are in trouble because of these types of managers. The VW dealership where I was banging my head against the wall, both the sales managers were moved around to a different showroom to "improve" the service there because they were quite good at what they do. So what VW in effect did was, make a poor dealership poorer and try to make another poor dealership slightly better. I was talking to the top dogs and they say its protocol often when managers and workers underperform, they get rotated and monitored. This is speculating but I think you are not the only complaint in his wardrobe and pretty soon to preserve the dealership image they will have no choice but to consider relocating him or monitoring him closely. To make any kind of 'threat' can be deemed a criminal offence, I don't know what advice you have had from the CAB so far but don't forget that you can always log it with the Police Operations Control room on 101 if required. As long as you keep a detailed log of time/date/event/paper-trail/e-mails and any witnesses you should be okay. All the best mate.

I would WANT them to wrongly keep my deposit. Nothing better than having a concrete reason to go to war.

And when it's all said and done and they've surrendered by giving you your deposit back, you usually end up getting something for free or heavily discounted too.

Good luck in becoming the man that just won't go away.

Just read the thread with interest. Shame about the car but just move on, the beauty of these forums is it gives people a real insight into these dealers & what they are really like. I know your problem with finance but i,m sure you will get it sorted.
Just by refusing you a sale it has potentially cost them thousands & i,m sure the higher tier of management will not be pleased. I suspect the jumped up staff will be due a bollocking & rightly so.
i was self employed & if i behaved like this i wouldnt expect to be in business long. Shocking way to treat people & he deserves all he gets.
I,m sure Audi UK will take a dim view, they were not too impressed when Guildford tried to charge me £50 for a radio code on the jaffa after lashing out 20K the day before. They soon turned turtle & sent it. Even small things like that leave a bitter taste but this is a biggy so i expect the heavens to move on this one.
Good luck mate everyone including the law is on your side

I've used that dealership in the past. Not good to hear, it is true, a lot of the high end market dealerships look down their noses at you unless you are buying brand new. You do receive a 2nd rate service.

Been watching this thread for a couple of days - I'm shocked at their service tbh. All companies get stuff wrong occasionally, its human nature to make mistakes. Whats important though is how they deal with them.

For example, I bought my car from Sytner Audi in Leicester in September. They originally screwed up the finance as I wasn't informed about loads of stuff which would have meant I wouldn't have had the car. They then bent over backwards to make it work for me, and I had the car, and they had the sale. Everyones happy.

Why this garage wouldn't do that for you I've got no idea - do they not need the business or something?

It seems that the car sales industry, or at least those who work in sales, don't want to or are too lazy to sell cars.

I've just spent two weeks trying to buy a car and even though I made it clear to all dealers I had the readies waiting to be spent most of the dealers didn't phone me back when I enquiriled about their cars. Some didn't even call me back to negotiate on close offers I put in, and those cars are still up for sale today.

I have had the exact same thing and I am more than willing to name and shame, Huntingdon Audi possibly the worst customer experience I have ever ever had. When I was looking for my S3 they had one used approved for 22K on the forecourt, rang the sales guy 3 times and never got back to me because I wanted to pay in cash (well card, BACS, you know what I mean) didnt want to sell me the car pretty much because I wasnt having it on finance. I will never use main dealer again for anything

Thank you all for the kind words and support.

Audi Uk cannot do anything and cannot force them to sell the car. They can offer no resolution other than sending a complaint to the operations manager.

The lady tried to speak to guy involved but they do not want to do business with me, Ever!

I have found out from a friend that when the dealers send the feedback letter a month or so after buying, if they receive negative feedback then they don't receive a bonus.

So i am refused a car because they don't want to lose their bonus over an honest opinion.

Had they said give us good feedback, sorry for the problems so far and here's the car then all would have been dandy.

This whole issue is down to greed it seems and a disgusting approach to negative feedback.

Due to the service from the dealer and Audi uk, I won't be investing my hard earned in another Audi anytime soon, perhaps ever.

Although part of the group, Vw customer service was top notch when i bought my caddy in december, perhaps a golf r may be on the cards soon instead, i will approach that dealer in a couple of months once all the dust has settled from this.

I might also see how Bmw are and what they can do for me as although no good in winter always fancied an M1 or M3.

Oh how Audi UK have changed. I purchased a new A4 1.9TDi (90bhp) in 1995 from a local dealership. I then spent 10 months arguing with them about how bad the car was and all the things that were wrong with it. They just came up with excuse after excuse. In the end I contacted Audi UK who got involved, and I ended up getting another brand new A4 1.9TDi at a cost of £1,000.

I find it hard to believe that Audi UK aren't even prepared to get involved and at least try and locate a similar car from a more reputable dealership and make a good will gesture towards the purchase price. So much for customer loyalty. I wish you all the best for whatever brand you decide to opt for, but it would be nice if you could stay with the marque that you like.

Sorry to hear that this experience has left a really bad taste in your mouth.

I know Audi UK can't force them to sell you the car, but surely they can say 'stop giving us a bad name with your **** service to customers'? It could damage the Audi name if dealers are being like this.

It is a shame as i would have been paying thousands into the Audi brand over the next few years, S3, Rs3, Rs4 etc

To top all this off just checked with the bank and had to do a section 75 and have payments frozen otherwise i would have been liable to pay, I asked the finance co to cancel the agreement and notify the bank earlier as no deal could be made but the funds were transferred to them on saturday, meaning the bank think car was sold by Audi then!

So as it stands bank haven't been refunded yet and i was still liable to pay for a car i don't have, great!

This has all been a bit of a joke really and still without deposit!

Seems a shame, I'm Oxfordshire based and have found Ridgeway group really good, I've dealt with the VW garage in Wantage and had top service, and the Skoda garage in Oxford gave me cracking service, looks like I will have to find somewhere else to take my audi though.

Ridgeway Vw wantage supplied my van, excellent service. Half a tank of fuel without me asking to top to off an already great deal.

    Massive thumbs up from me!

Expected similar service but unfortunately not.

Unbelievable! I still can't believe that Audi UK aren't even prepared to step in here and offer some assistance, and now you have this issue to contend with as well. No offence meant, but you really nailed it with that last line... 'all been a bit of a joke'.

Have you posted your experience on Audi UK Facebook page as I would think that would get their attention and they would have to be seen to do something about it as it would have a global viewing platform instead of just a phone call that was just from a disheartened customer.

Hope you get a resolution to your problem soon.

I have to say im shocked! If I had of had that type of service I would have withdrawn the offer straight away! I work in sales fairenough not car sales but its all pretty much the same game, and customer service is top priority! And if we had heard of a bad review, its would be addressed within the work force with most probably a warning to the member of staff! And then the customer would be contacted and offers given to resolve the bad service previously! Definately not how they handled it!!!

Same experience with Huntingdon Audi! My family has had 4 Audi's off them in the last few years and even when I went in to put a deposit down on mine we had to wait an hour even though we had an appointment (which I know is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but this is just the tip of the iceburg). Also had some dramas where communication was very poor with them before, said they would call back when they didn't etc. etc. which just builds up and frustrates over time. However when I did finally get it in for a service the technician was extremely polite and helpful, so I think it is just a serious of bad communication and poor after-sales service from some.

The guy who sold me the car was called Mark and he was an absolute gent and really cared about after-sale service, even offered to lend me his Q7 if my A3 had any problems!!! Think he's moved onto Land Rover in Cambridge now which is a shame for Audi and there customers. Guess it's just hit and miss, some genuinely care and some just want the funds.

Try not to let this put you off Audi mate, is there another dealer nearby that you can go to? As I said sometimes it can be hit and miss but as others have said as well there are some who do genuinely care! Good luck fella! :kissmyrings:

I'd seriously be back on the phone to Audi UK and explain to them in black and white that this whole saga hasn't been you dealing with a private company, this garage use the Audi brand so as far as you're concerned you're dealing with Audi.

I don't believe for a second they can't get involved with their franchisees when they're screwing clients over. Poor service by franchises will adversely affect their brand, case in point here.

Just caught up with this thread again, its truly shocking the way some main dealers treat existing and new customers, there always seems to be an element that lets them down, wether its a good sales experience and then several bad servicing or warranty experiences, or the other way around. why can't they just look after people wether we are buying a used S3 or a brand new R8 !! we are still a customer, millionare or a working man it shouldn't matter.

The beauty of being a multi-national company, hate audi, love vw, or vice versa, they still win!!

I had a horrible time with VW Group (covers Leicester, Derby,..) but that was after I got the car, things balanced out in the end but going the routes suggested in this thread are a waste of time. The simple response from the dealer will be you are not eligible for finance.

As for your deposit, they have to give that back unless you refused the car, if you cancelled the process like you say in your first post then its possible you lost the deposit.

You may have missed the earlier thread that he removed. He already had the finance for the car, and it was the dealer who refused to sell it to him. That's a big difference to what you may have thought the background to this was.

The finance is through Barclays partner finance and they have approved me, they have also said once this agreement is paid back to them as they have started the process of section 75 then there is no reason i can't get the approval on another car. If i was to choose to buy a vw then i would request the finance done through barclays by the dealer and it will get approved.

As you say though being part of the company i don't think i will go down this route with vw either.

The deposit is part of the finance agreement, barclays say as they have paid out the deal has to be honored now by either the broker delivering the car to me at no extra cost or a full refund and as my £500 notes are part of this agreement then this is included.

The dealer refused me the car unless i removed the post, i refused the car due to this threat, i then gave them a chance to resolve the complaint they refused to do business with me, ever.

I don't see how their refusal was justified and i do not believe i am liable to lose my deposit.

No mention of non refundable even if i decide i didn't want it for no reason.

    We will see what happens.

Regarding the deposit I mean with the dealer, based on behaviour so far, even if someone said one thing its the usual purpose of a deposit that would be upheld, i.e you say nothing was signed but a deposit was taken from you, which was for a car you then say was refused by the dealer to be sold to you.

The thing is though, in your first post you say:

After i calmed down i realized doing business like this was good for no one so withdrew from the sale which they would have done to me anyway if i had not removed the post.

I may be over reacting on a deposit that was £250? £500? but if they are refusing to return the deposit, this would be their only thing to rely on.

In my opinion they, as a representative of an international organisation haven't handled this well at all, if your views were so bad, they should have logged in and challenged you, not abuse you because of his position in the company.

If you used your card to pay the deposit then I would get the bank to start the recovery process to reclaim your deposit as the dealer had refused the sale and you had to cancel the finance agreement.

If you paid cash then I hope the dealer would do the right thing and return your cash.

Ahhh, Yeah, I'm looking into getting one as I've always wanted a lambo however when the aventador first came out I wasn't a fan and then it has slowly grown on me.. They have a lovely arancio argos(orange) one, for a very good price although slightly high mileage although now they're basically audi's it's not really..
I'm looking at getting one as an investment/toy that when I'm not using it'll be leased out so should make me some money back hopefully.. :/.. Or well that's the idea but it's mainly as a weekend toy to be driven how they're designed.. :D. We shall see, but the dealerships service was great compared to some other places I've been where I basically get told where to put it..
