Does your 1st gear vibrate? I quickly get into 2nd and all is well. Just asking as I know the TDI is a bot old school and it might be normal?

Mine does, although it's probably not a good example as mine does allot of things differently plus allot of the parts are different to stock. If this is unusual maybe it's an injector or gearbox issue.

Mines smooth in all gears, just vibrates at 70-80 due to my wheels

No vibes here, just a case of insomnia, likes to empty its battery like I do my bottle of whiskey..

I get slight vibration in first but only for a few seconds when the engine is bone cold first thing in the morning if I boot it out my road due to traffic.....then it never happens again.

Only started noticing it a couple of weeks ago since the temperatures started dropping in the morning.

Mine is on 63k mile and unmolested.

Gearbox mount or will almost certainly be the flywheel on it's way

That's hard to say, I did mine as soon as it started vibrating, if it is the flywheel I would just wait untill the clutch is knackard

Been to two specialists- both said it was normal! I think i was just used to newer cars!

It's not normal for the car to vibrate there will be a problem somewhere, just depends how much time and money you are prepared to spend finding it.

It's hard to explain these things online. It doesn't vibrate terribly at all. Both test drove it- and literally said they couldn't believe it had 186,000 miles under the bonnet. It drives well, the gears are selected as if it was a new gearbox.

I guess I worry too much!
