    Hey guys,

Just wondering what are the effects of a faulty tappet in the engine? As some may be aware I had an issue with my head cylinder being scrapped so I purchased a second hand engine and swapped heads but now I can hear that on of them is clicking.

It isn't loud but annoying all the same. Do they get worse over time? Is it a big job to replace them?

    Thanks again

sometimes if the engine has been sat they can tick for a while especially if the oils not in great condition.

What kinda condition was the second hand engine in, and how many miles have you done on the new head?

My old Nova had a 16v corsa engine fitted and it used to rattle like and old ford until the oil had warmed up to operating temp then it went completely silent. You may find flushing the engine oil could clear the tappet out and stop it ticking.

You should check them, some engines have well documented failures.
