Right , Ive searched around abit obviously boost leak may be the answer however,

Driving home from work today was fine all well and good i was granny driving anyway. Then i got home and took my friend for a spin as he hadn't been in my s3 before.

On full boost i heard a noise that can only be described as a prelonged beep :S, It sounded almost electrical but quite high pitched :S.

It only does it under full boost just strikes me as odd . Any suggestions.

If it's a high pitched squeel only when on full boost it's likely to be turbulent air in the TIP. Is your car mapped as this is very common on mapped cars? If it was a boost leak you would most likely hear it at other times aswell, not just full boost. When I bought my S3 I heard this noise and thought it was a belt slipping, but found out otherwise. I have since fitted a silicon TIP and it has gone.

Difficult one that. Does sound different to what mine sounded like. Almost like a whistle blowing, which could lean to a boost leak.

That is what I like to call a 'squeeler'. A boost leak mate, without doubt. Its as the turbo comes on full chat.

That sound is normally made by a jubliee clip on the pipework not being tight. Check ALL the clips. Including the one from the turbo to the red pipe.

Also, when looking, keep an eye out for any joins which are a bit damp, this is normally a good indication.

Could be a leak around the TIP. A standard TIP tends to collapse on full boost which might be creating a slight gap where it is jubilee'd.

Whilst this is true, the sound you can hear is the result of pressure escaping. That's why it's such a high pitched squeak.

The TIP never sees any pressure, it only ever sees vacuum, which wouldn't produce the sound of pressure releasing. This says to me that it's likely to be in the charge system somewhere.

The TIP cavitating under vacuum does make a sound, but not that sort of sound.
