Noise on startup Audi S3

Hi All,

Brand new to this forum, & just bought an S3, gave it a good work out yesterday, & this am, there is a strange vibration on fast idle then for the first couple of mins driving, sounds like leaves rustling?? it appears to be coming from the exhaust (poss the backbox) but I can not see any gas escaping- I have spoke to local dealer & he thinks it may be an air pump noise?

Any one got any ideas/ had something similar?

Welcome always nice to get new faces. Could it be part of the insides of one of the silencer boxes come away? how old is the car? If is has been used for short journeys, the water produced from the engine can sit in these as the exhaust doesn't get to heat up enough to burn it up. This in turn least to it rusting form the inside. Or I could be talking complete crap. Air Pump?

Thanks for the welcome, cheers Khufu, maywell be the problem, cars done 50K on a May2000 registration. Aparts from Sunday, I do only drive small distances...
