    Hi

We have a much loved A3.....

The issue is that it appears we have a TOTAL powercut in the car which means we can't switch it on or open it or anything.

we can open car using key, once in no lights no nothing. I think it might be loose wire as occasionally it helps if you slam the door! Not everytime though.

took it into a garage but the guy couldn't find anything.

    any advice?

    cheers :)

    Battery dead or disconnected?

Surely the garage guy would have checked the battery....

    Hi,
What year is your audi? Slamming the door indicates a loose connection somewhere. Start from scratch, main power source is obviously battery so if you can aquire a multimeter, test the battery voltage under load. Next, check the main engine compartment fuses, usually 30amp+ ones. Check how tight your battery pole connections are. If the battery is good, and the fuses and connections tight, follow the black negative lead, it will go to the chassis, make sure this is also clean and tight. If all above are okay, it will need looking at by an automotive electrician. Let us know how you get on. Cheers
