Thats strange.. Mine has one under where the opening button and the number plate light hide. Is there an opening where perhaps a lock used to be?
Nothing on my 04 either
maybe another example of a cost cutting exercise by audi.
there nothing there at all not even anything that looks like it was ever there
Thanks for this, I've just been out (in the rain!) to check
03 Avant has a keyhole, isn't this where people mount their rear view camera normally?
sure the camera goes in one of the light clusters. maybe just on the very late ones there is no key hole ??
No boot lock on mine either.
54 plate Avant.
The manual directs to open the cover on the triangle in the gate and pull the ring which will open the lock from inside.Thinking that there is no need for a key hole if the remote works. Also if the c/locking fails there are hidden locks in both back doors so the key can be used all round.I am sure this is different from my previous 03.Nothing on how to lock the gate from inside
cam replaces the boot lock
iv seen them with and without
my 54 aint got 1
looking like all the late ones dont have them
Probably a cost saving measure, implimented at the same time as they removed the complexities of the swivelling cigarette lighter!
But I dont think I ever used the key on my 03and its one less thing to go wrong. Also dont miss the 2 stage struts on the 03 tailgate cos the first level was a bit low for me and the 04 goes straight to full height which I assume is normal.I have wondered if some drivers may have to ask a passerby to help close it
