Went for a nice drive today to collect a new mountain bike then had to do a 55 mile trip for a meeting.

Thought i'd take the back roads in my TDI 170 Sportback with a bluefin. I had new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's fitted 500 miles ago and I must say they were amazing. It was a nice day, roads were clear and the car stuck to the road! A much improvement from the Falken 452's.

Anyone in any doubt about tyres I'd say buy the best you can anytime.

Must say my TDI felt very much at home with the other tractors in the country! Wouldn't beat an S3 but was still loads of fun. Roll on summer.

Just got those same tyres on my 140 sportback on Tuesday. Initial impression is very good compared to the Pilot Sports on originally.

£112 a corner all in !

I always think the danger in comparing tyres straight after each other is that you usually change asthe tread is low and then you have fresh rubber straight after the swap. Only heard good things about the goodyears.

The Falkens still had 4 to 5mm of tread on them but were just too noisy for me.
