Newbie from Cornwall!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm James from cornwall, i currently drive a vauxhall astra sri xp 1.9cdti 180bhp picture below. But i am looking for a change and i'm looking towards a Audi a3 s-line 2.0 dti 170 around a 09-11 plate with lowish miles on the clock, what i was wondering is there any common problems or things i should look out for on the a3's when starting picking out a few a3's. i am a little tad fussy with my cars i always like my cars having loads of options on it but what i'm wondering what options can you fit after if the car hasnt got it when i buy one. the options below are ones im currently thinking of having in my a3.

Bose Sound System
Xenons with LED Daytime running lights
Flat Bottomed Multi-Function Steering Wheel
Bluetooth
iPod Preparation
Heated Front Seats
Comfort Pack (Parking Sensors, Cruise Control, Auto Wipers & Lights, Auto dimming rear view mirror and wind mirrors)
Sat Nav
Front and rear parking senors if both are able to have?
Rotor Arm alloys.

Hi buddy,

Yeh I have been looking few a posts in my spare time since being on here the main thing I'm worried about is the options what options from the list can you fit after buying the car aka retro fit. Thanks for the reply not to far away from there I'm always travelling up to Cheltenham as my other half is at uni there what Audi do you have buddy.

i have a 04 a4 sline , i was looking for weeks till i found mine had all extras and fsh .
im sure you can buy the extras and add them later but in the long run i think it will cost more than waiting till you find the right one

Yeh thts what I thought I don't mind doing a few little bits but it's always nice to take ur time and find the right one. I'm not in any great rush would like a change before Xmas if possible tho lol. Cheers for the help Scott.

yeh hopefully the search will go well like i said above not in no great rush would like to find a good one that meets as many ticks on my list as possible haha.

Audiman i would love to meet up with you guys on the 9th but i will be on route that day to turkey for a lovely 3 hot weeks so sorry, but if you have any more in the future let us know be good to have a meet with you guys. Your S4 sounds awesome, one quick questions whats the x and the b5 for as i'm slightly new to the auid launguage lol i'm use to Vauxhall terms haha.

Also what do we all think to the ebay link a few comments up i like it but bit iffy as i would prefer a 2.0 170 desiel not 2.0 turbo petrol any opinions

hi mate, the X is for Xreg 2000, and B5 is the Chassis format. if i was you dont mess about with something that has been chopped about unless you are keeping it for years.
go with a standard car with the 170bhp hopefully filled with optional extras as this will give a much better re-sale at a later date
 
Oh rite I see I get u now haha simple few minutes lol. I did think that I do like to try and keep my cars as originals like font put rs stuff on a s line etc. optional etc are a must have lol. Just a quick question. Out of the optional extra's above which ones can you fit after I gave the car if you don't mind me asking. Thanks for the replys Audimad.

everything can be fitted at a later date at a cost. much better to hold out for the right car with everything you want
 
Oh rite I see does Audi need things activating like vauxhalls with the use of like tech 2 as I have had a few bits done on my Astra which needed the tech 2 to activate it lol. Yeh I will hold out tho got till Xmas plenty of time lol.
 
Cornish choppers, thts cool I'll look out for u on my travels what age is tht if u don't kind me asking?

But cv boots need doing and wishbone poly bushes ASAp

Do u have the rs4 with Porsche breaks?
 
Yeh thts cool sounds like ur a busy man with the car. Tht will look awesome once u get the coil covers on it.

Rs4 with Porsche breaks no how cone u ask I know someone with an rs4 in blue.
 
Thts ok no worries. I drive the Astra on the first page hopefully sell it soon so I can get an a3 lol.

Dan if its me you directed that question at yes my S4 has the Porsche brake set up. am i right in thinking then your S3 was the grey one up at Rude Dubs a few weeks ago? you also have the same brake set up
 
Yes thats me mate now my s3 is lowered now but need my breaks doing and wonder where you get yours from etc

Well that's to much for me with baby Mrs would let me spend thst amount just on discs

No anyone after this setup as I'll
Get alfra Romeo Brava disc re drill them to 5x100 still have 330mm disc

you need to make sure that the Alfa disc has the same off set (distance from the hub to face of the disc) otherwise you will need to have different adapter brackets made up
