Git the Whinney noise going on - does my head in !
Cheers ppl - think I'll just fit a fiesta engine instead
Awesome, why didnt i think of fitting a fiesta engine last time i replaced my turbo, it might have been cheaper!
I'm in the same boat as you My turbo has started to make a whinney noise, almost sounds like I have a small dump valve installed sometimes.
I have been umming and arring about either getting a new turbo or repairing mine but cannot decide. This company was suggested to me by a friend of a friend: Turbo Reconditioning - Reconditioned Turbos - Turbochargers UK | Midland Turbo
I do plan to re-map my engine at a later date, so perhaps the new turbo would be the better option, just encase!?
Anyone else had experience repairing/reconditioning/replacing turbo's?
I heard bout a place in Leeds, they refurb or upgrade your turbo to hybrid for a fair price - mine already mapped - it's unreal now
turbo clinic leeds sorted mine fast and good service useing quality parts
I had a turbo dynamics stage 2 (MDX376) turbo on my pd150 which reliably coped with a peak of 1.9bar. The way that thing spooled up was unbelievable.
MDX481 Stage 2 Hybrid Turbo for VAG 2.0TDI 140bhp engines [MDX481] - £805.00 : Turbo Dynamics, Turbochargers & Performance Products
These units are often cheaper than the off the shelf OEM ones. As your car is remapped this may be a better option long term.
