Had a new steering rack fitted, brand new genuine one fitted at a VW Audi specialist, after it was done the ABS light would come on when driving and turning a corner, then go of when straight again.

took it back few days later, they did some reset and said something was out, can't remember what they said was out ;(, ever since that now it comes on with any movement of turning the wheels, all sensors etc have been checked, what else could it be?

    thanks in advance

dont suppose when the rack was disconnected the steering wheel was rotated and now the steering angle sensor is out

There will also be an associated fault code for this too so a scan with VCDS would help with diagnosis... as Jason has said though sounds steering angle sensor related... is the steering wheel centred when driving straight or slightly off centre?

or even worse, when the rack was disconnected its gone round 360 degrees so could still be centred but way out (obviously that won't effect the lock as the rack was off)

That's what happened to mine, 360 out, after sorting that out by removing the steering wheel and spinning the clock spring back to 0, I got an alignment then reset the angle sensor with vcds.
