Im looking to go stage 1 to start off with and plan on getting that done at the start of next year but was wondering whats worth doing before that? are there any other bits and pieces i should deal with first?

Plans for the time being are as follows but in no order:
Team Dynamic 1.2s to go on after the winter
Stage 1 map
intake
exhaust
ttrs brake set up
springs

Thanks,
Philip

Needs the Eibach lowering springs to correct the reverse rake though, mine is the same and I hate it.

Thats a sweet car mate, dsg open sky roof, nice. Will be looking for one the same myself in a year or two, If your going stage 1 then the first things to do is change the air filter to pipercross, some will say K+N greenstuff and so on, personally I don't like the cotton filters and they void warranties as the pipercroos wont, and change the turbo diverter valve for a GFB DV+, although you will have the updated version on your car, which is a good dv the gfb is better.

Don't waste money on panel filters.
A complete waste of time and money.
At Stg1 it will make no difference and for anything more you need a decent intake.

recommend the maxogen ITG intake. Have it on mine now (remap in 2 weeks time) and the sound is so much nicer

I can second that.

Mine has the ITG and whilst it's not the prettiest it's good for over 600bhp.

Gratuitous under bonnet shot included.

that reminds me, heat tape for the metal parts of the intake arrived the other day! you applied it anywhere else?

looks cleaner than mine anyway! only problem with having the engine cover off! you just remove the rocker cover and apply some elbow grease?

That's the IE cam cover and breather.

No elbow grease from me but tons from my favourite engine man.

was looking at the Ramair pipe work and shield then was going to stick the piper cross filter i have at home onto the end.

Non res cat back arrived today so hopefully get it on tomorrow night :D

Wicked car mate. Looks great!

Stage 2 would be your best bet if you're fitting exhaust and filter. Save going stage 1 now only to maximise to stage 2 at a later date.

I have 341bhp currently. That with DSG and launch control on...sub 5's to 60mph.

You'll love it...until you get beaten by by a 22 year old drug dealer in a C63. Then you'll be going stage 2+ like I'm about to haha

So i got the Miltek Cat back on last night and ordered a intake today...also looking at a ttrs brake set up so will know more in that in the next few days.

Plan is to wait until next year and then get a decat and downpipe and go straight for stage 2 :)

I was thinking the same....cup of tea or maybe a wee Caol Ila might work, but otherwise it's for someone else.

used to do crud like that all the time back in my youth. on rusty old vauxhalls! don't miss lying on a wet road in the middle of a freezing cold night, drool running down your cheek from holding a torch in your gob for ages, eyes full of rust n dirt and grazed knuckles!

doesn't help having a gravel driveway nowadays too!

Im to impatient to wait for a ramp being free this weekend so had to crack on and get it done haha, did the same thing the other week swapping my standard system back onto my a4 before i traded in. Cat back is easy enough although i dont think i would like to do a decat this way ahah

Good ramps need ones to start working on car :p

Got my Intake on last night, planning on leaving it be for a month or two now, banks taken a bit of an impact since i picked the car up a week ago haha. Plan is to go decat next year and head for stage 2 :)

Forgot to mention that within 30mins of picking the car up i was over to collect the new wheels!! They need a refurb but will get it all sorted out over the winter months and get them wrapped in some quality rubber for the summer months!!

i was at crail raceway yesterday for the last Drag event of the year and unfortunately arrived just as the rain came hammering down...best was a 14.1. Also need to get some better tyres for next year as was struggling with grip
