    hi all.

I came across your web page and have to say it has been very helpful.

Im currently in spain waiting to catch the ferry back to the uk, with my final order for my s3 going through my head.

Im going to my loacl dealership on thursday to finalise the order. The car has not one extra missing pretty much apart from the selfparking(im sure the girlfriend will manage ok.....if i let her drive it) but i cant think what colour to go for.

My first choice was black, it then changed to silver and then white and now it between silver and white. My dealer is also carrying out the mtm tuning from engine, brakes exhaust and wheels. which ive been told wil have around the 356bhp mark ( dont hold me to that). The reason im not wanting to go white is because my friend has just purchased a lotus exige s in white with black wheels. That was going to be my idea. but i seen a photo of a silver s3 with a kinda grey paint on the mtm alloys and ive fell in love. will try show some photos.

my order will arrive for march just fter my birthday and the new reg!:D

Also should i keep the magnetic ride on the options with the 19" wheels?

and also should i get the tuning carried out for me when i go to collect the car or wait till the engine is run in?

    any help would be great

I would wait for the tuning, give engine time to run in, also I think someone on here said magnetic ride isnt that great, with 19's any ride will be kinda hard I think, this is just my humble opinion

    Hi nshort10,

Tell me you're not buying from Audi Braehead! You've no chance of a discount from those stealers!

Send me a PM and I'll tell you who to go to. I even bought our first A3 from Audi Leicester because I couldn't get the dealers up here to do decent discounts.

Having it chipped at delivery will not cause any issues so long as you go through the same running in process!
Most chips now also let you swap between standard and the power map, so you could run in standard trim for a while???

Either way, enjoy it... and don't forget to post pics.

yeah only with a dongle unit no?? like revo I used to have on my s3/4

apart from bluefin who else does the switchable? oh & apr ye

I think chipping from delivery is tempting fate TBH, you'd thrash it down the road & forget about running it in, lol

    GIAC and Bluefin too.
I don't know what MTM's kit is like, but for £700 i'd expect a switch option.

If you've paid your hard earned i'm sure you'd resist the itch to run it in properly!!!

Uh didnt I say Bluefin :uhm:

MTM dont switch as far as I know, that'll be QST but I wouldnt go back there even if you paid me, enuff of that old war wound.

Problem is with us all we would be inclined to scratch that itch huh, lol

guys thanks alot for the comments. yeh its the mtm tuning which is from qst. Good thing is i can spec up the car as much as i want because its through the company so they are paying for it. cant complain.

i will def take it easy when i pick it up! its goin to be strange going from mr bmw to the s3! since its an oil burner! How do you post pics up on the web page?

so you think it will be easier just to have the car ready and waiting for me. instead of picking up and dropping it off again for a day or two.

ive seen a few of you guys have changed the air intake, would you suggest i do the same? is there big gains?

    rosswell pm sent.

imnot to sure on the increase, but when my dealer phoned and told me bout the price change it worked out cheaper because so extras were now standard and some were removed like the garage door opener whch im gutted about!

Think it is going to be silver now im going for.

On my way home from plymouth today i seen about 3 black s5's and 2 black s3's so thinkin different colour now

thanks for your posts guys and the help your giving me

Just watch yourself with Kim@QST ok, from personal experiences, there are cheaper companies that do just as good job & on route down from glasgow, why you wanna go that far is beyond me, he's not exactly cheap & also from what I asked him to do or more like didnt do rather!!!!!!

& no I would let the car grind in 1st then map, but your choice & I'm not you.

That £250 is probably due to the included auto dimming side mirrors now with one of the packs that is usually £250 per mirror glass, prob the financial climate made them think should get more bang for your bucks.

im not driving down to kim at qst, they are supplyin the parts and tuning and the audi dealer i am using are fitting it all so its all under warrenty, ive got a 320cd m sport atm tuned to 195 bhp with 56 lb ft increase dnt know figure. i have had no probs(touchwood) but just want to be on the safe side with the audi.

the more ppl are saying just to run the car in first is pushing me to that route now

I collect mine next week and am running it in first, then getting the MTM remap. That way if there any any issues or faults with the car from new, I can get the delaer to sort them out with out worrying about comeback so early on. QST are only 1hr from me though.

Paul good thinking TBH, best to find faults beforehand than the dealer saying its been mapped not out fault even though given NShort has dealer doing work so different scenario I guess

& the silver S3 with those wheels are not bad TBH & for once someone has the wheels in the arches properly not lowered so it looks kinda stupid, nice even gaps around the wheels
