Following some discussion in the BE Avant thread I thought it better to give this it's own.

I'm just back from Milltek in Derby who developed a Quad Tail system for the A4/A5 platform on my car. After a couple of hundred miles under the belt I'm pleased to report all is well.

Firstly a big thanks to the Milltek team, especially Kev who worked on my car and of course Phil for making it happen - It's been a pleasure.

The sound is what I would describe as perfect for the A4/A5, not in your face or Chav loud but purposeful and refined - It simply releases the great 6 pot sound that (I think) we all love and want to hear. It is very well behaved in the cabin, and not even the slightest hint of a drone that some 3rd party exhausts have been known to give. I've yet to experience a 'Drive By' as I left Derby pretty quickly, keen to beat any traffic but from what I can hear with the windows down I don't think it'll be disappointing. I'll see what I can sort out later. Kev did say that remapped cars (mine isn't) will sound a little better with the higher boost pressures helping.

The next production is scheduled and should be available from mid July. It is planned that this will be rolled out to all A4 variants as the tail pipes are now interchangeable. You do need an S-Line rear bumper and then the S4 rear valance and trim.

If you are interested in a Group Buy I have approached a company whom have offered what I consider to be a very good deal and I'm happy to run with it if you wish - As usual start a list.

I'd start thinking about an early order as the first batch may sell quickly with the A5 owners being interested.

Below are the first few pictures I took with my iPhone right after I collected it, if you want any others just ask.

That looks the mutz nutz!
I'm sure they'll be a video on the milltek site
Shortly - but if you want to make one in the meantime..
The S4 valance really suits your car (must be the colour!)
I would like to express my interest in the GB
(allbeit tentatively as I don't have a car yet!)

Great work!

Keef there are already a couple of A5 3.0 TDi videos on the Milltek site. I can't confirm the likeness to the sound from the outside as so far I've been busy enjoying it from the inside :racer:

Milltek exhaust on Audi A5 3.0 TDi quattro

Audi A5 3.0 TDi - not a very diesel sound!

If you want to start a list for the Group Buy so we can keep track of the interest.

Can't remember if I already posted them - Do you want the part numbers for the S5 parts?

Stu
You did post the part numbers but I think they're
on my original post - so might be worth sticking
them under this thread. Just watched the A5 vids!

Now you see, understated, classy, yet just enough to hint that this is just a little bit special, like a cheeky wink from a posh bird lol!!

That's how I feel cars should be, and after spending 5 years working as a ripspeed specialist when I was tut lad, I've seen some truly shocking and truly stunning exhaust systems.

So Stu, doesn't that alter your warranty in anyway? Or don't you care:)

At the risk of sounding thick! I can't get the vid to
play on my iPhone? Yet I'm assuming from the previous post 'sounds' that it must work!
Also did you order the valance & trim from the parts dep
at your local stealership or off the interweb (site?) - Easy to fit??
Can't believe the trim is so expensive £!

Understated is exactly what I'm after, I know it performs well and I don't need to advertise it. I hate to see a car that looks like it's been involved in a Halfrauds ram raid.

In terms of warranty it shouldn't be an issue, it's only a cat back system. It's when you change the cat that they might ask a question, but again only if that was proved to be directly attributable to the problem you have.

Keef that video is posted on Photobucket rather than You Tube so it might be for that reason.

I ordered from TPS as I have an account but any parts depot can get it for you. The trim bit is just the silver coloured strip you can see on the back.

Slight correction to the part numbers

Stu
Can you actually view parts and part No.'s
on any website or do you need 'elsawin'?
I'm just wandering if the chrome trim is available
in a different colour as it might look odd on a BE?
I'm also hoping for black oval tailpipes!

Cheers
Keef

I don't have the details here at the moment Keef but there is another option but it's a fair bit more expensive. I'll look later for you.

Hi, anyone know if these trim parts for the a4 will fit a none Sline bumper? of if anyone has the the part numbers for the none Sline bumper? Any help will be appreciated

Thanks People

Blimey this is an old thread!
From what I remember, you need the Sline bumper mate.

Cheers mate just got an a4 3.0 tdi and wanted to put 6x4 tips on it lol looks like I'm gonna have to go aftermarket
