New member, looking for advice on tuning

Hi,
I have just joined having bought a 96 P reg A4 Avant 1.8 T Sport.
The car seems to go quite well for it's size but I have just sold a highly modified Corrado G60 so I am after a few ideas to give me some more power. I am really looking at improving the availlable tourque across a large rev range and am not to bothered about a maximum bhp figure.
I have read up a bit and the AMD diverter valve seems a worthwhile mod along with a rechip. Is there anything else that I can do without investing too much cash?

I'd consider doing an exhaust when you chip it. No doubt that I would chip it. I've had two 1.8T cars, and both have been chipped by APR.
