    Just wanted to say Hello.

Been watching this forum for a while now and picked up some good tips.

Enjoyed being an Audi owner fo a few years now, had a mk1 TT Coupe (was in the TTOC), but afraid it had to go. (Family practicalities)

Now got an A3 170pd Quattro Sport (no mods yet though). Its an 08 model and no problems with DPF. Pleased with car as a whole.

Someone might be able to answer this question for me hopefully.

In the boot next to the spare wheel is a black lid bolted down and covering what is the battery box on other models, why is this closed off on my model and what is in it?

Looking at the workshop manual it does show a cover with the battery beneath it, applicable to some models. Why do you thing your's does not have one. Can you see the battery in the engine compartment?

You could try unscrewing the cover and look underneath!

The battery is in the engine compartment, the box in the boot looks as though it would fit a battery in there. Banging on the side of the box from underneathe the car it sounds empty. No cables or pipes appear to enter this area either.

Car is only 2 months old so dont really want to start undoing panels just yet.
