Just wondering how much people have paid to get the cambelt replaced on their cars...also am i correct in saying you get your cambelt and water pump replaced together?

fontain.co.uk have quoted me £491.40 which i think is quite high...

    cheers,

I've been quoted approximately £400 by John Ashley (VW dealer) and approximately £330 by Mastertechs (Audi specialists). I need to get mine done soon too, but just forked out £300 for 60k service and need to get brake discs and pads done too.

Its advised to get the water pump done at the same time because it means you wont have to pay additonal labour costs and the water pump is another one of those fragile audi parts...:banghead:

I booked mine in today at a Seat garage in Sunderland. I got a quote from them a couple of month ago for £290, phoned up today and told them i had a quote from them before for £270 and could they check it for me..... they came back with £271 for cambelt, water pump and tensioner, so its booked in for next week. :icon_thumright:

I was quoted £600ish in London but was due to go to Edinburgh just before it was due. Ended up with a quick jont to Stirling Audi to get it done for £275 incl all tensiors and pulleys.

It would almost be worth the driving the 800 mile round trip for the saving alone! On top of that, their customer service is far better than I have experienced in London.
