new a3 light switch

    does anyone know if the new a3 light switch the one with a bit on chrome and i think i little led light fit a 04 plate a3

    it will if you get the correct one for the lighting fitted to your car eg, xenons, front & rear fogs etc. There are people on forum already done it.

    well my car does not have auto lights but i done a xenon retrofit
    but the switch im lookin at has auto and a timer looking button

    I've done & fits fine, just get right one for your lights etc as K mentioned, but I got something extra on mine cause of my drl addition on my headlights, so if you plan to add things like coming home, drl's, auto light sensor for headlights etc then buy the switch for these functions so later can wire in fully.

    was thinkin of getting the drl in the future
    this one looks the same as mine but has a timer button and it says auto
    does the drl have something extra

    Yeah DRL has an on/off dial & probably with internal illumination dial aswell, possibly with a button for coming home & then auto for the obvious, got an image?

    Thats for coming home, interior illumination, manual headlight adjustment motors & auto activation headlights, but not drl

    mines the same as that but not auto headlights would it still be alright
    i was thinkin of gettin the drl in a couple month when i got the funds but not if its a really big job

    its the coming home feature plug & play with the addition of the upgrade swith or are there other changes required, just curious.

    Coming/leaving home can be enabled via vagcom tbh but wouldnt be switchable without the button, so can be done anyway with also the help of an earth wire & maybe DIS features enabled depending on age of car or you can do properly with the switch & wiring.

    I now sell genuine vagcom if anyone is interested.

    They are around £57 from audi by the way - a lot money for a switch with a bit of aluminium trim on it but its oh so tempting!!

    Yeah be even nicer for me if it wasnt dangling by a cable tie for 6 months, lol, havnt put that trim back in ages.

    I offered a solution & cheaper way to get, you decided no, so sod you, lol

    No mate these days we have spray paint & lacquer, the age of Braveheart is long gone, lol
