new A3 BE running in advice ?

    Hi all im picking my new my61 A3 BE up this afternoon are there any dos or donts do on how to drive it for the first so many miles and if so please advice .

    It is in the book when you get it. My dealer just said take it easy for the first few hundred miles, however when you read the book it totals around 1500km of running in.

    Personally i would always wait until the car is up to temperature (which you should do anyway) before giving it some revs. Go easy (keep under 3000-3500rpm assuming its a diesel, 4000-4500rpm) for the first 500 miles but give it the beans every now and then. Over 500 miles progreesively start to drive it how the lord intended!!

    You can always tell the difference in a car that has been run in too gently, they always feel a bit tight!
