TTE360 Upgrade Turbocharger

Introducing our pinnacle power stage while based on the original turbocharger the TTE360 performance turbocharger for the 1.8T. Offering a estimated 360PS with correct hardware & software, near Plug & Play Upgrade with fantastic response and OEM reliability. OEM+

Engineered & Enhanced

TTE360 is a evolution from our TTE340 stage and is based on a brand new Genuine BorgWarner K04 turbocharger, that we dismantle and set about upgrading as Turbo Engineers.
To produce a TTE360 K04(ko4 housings K16 turbine) upgrade turbocharger we use a much larger BorgWarner 7+7 billet compressor wheel, chosen because it is highly efficient. We CNC Re-Profile the compressor cover in house to a optimized tight tolerance and finish to ensure maximum compressor efficiency is given. 7+7 Blade technology enables lower boost threshold giving the user faster spool-up at lower engine speeds while providing the high boost with much less heat for powerful top-end performance.

A key part to driving the large 7+7 compressor and in turn making this unit produce the huge power advantage over stock and also our other stages, is machining and fitting a far larger BorgWarner K16 curved clipped and lightened turbine and shaft, while still keeping the k04 core, this is not so easy to do. This K16 turbine gives much lower back pressure and keeps EGT lower compared to stock K04 turbine or clipped stock.

We CNC re-profile the exhaust turbine housing to optimized profile and gap to take a larger K16 turbine and shaft we use on this stage, this turbine is a Genuine BorgWarner item. We lighten and also give the turbine a special curved clip of a specific amount. The clipping is a TTE grinding process to the turbine blade tips, curved to alleviate stress from process. Clipping reduces blade area, increasing gas flow and so reducing back pressure and lowering exhaust gas temperatures, allowing safer higher boost level's. This process also gives a secondary advantage of removing some mass. Lightening the turbine reducing rotational mass, improving moment of inertia, giving faster response.

The intake to the compressor wheel is a CNC milled billet piece with 58mm dia opening this gives a smooth transition from the intake pipe work to the larger compressor to lower turbulence and maximize velocity. The boost discharge outlet is also ported to again smooth the transition to the boost pipework to reduce turbulence.

Attention is given to increase the standard exhaust port size(40mm approx) We CNC mill, porting the turbine housing exhaust and throat and entry size to approx 48mm diameter for maximum flow from a upgrade manifold and so improving efficiency to the bigger turbine used.

Special profile 360 deg high performance TTE motorsport journal bearing is fitted, to remain durable at higher loads with no loss in transient response.

Actuator used is uprated sprung Genuine BorgWarner unit, fitted with our reinforced stainless steel clamps and hardware for trouble free operation. This also can be modified and set to customer needs and specifications if required.

Equilibrium

Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor for longevity and performance. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers with this regard. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and the CHRA is dynamically balanced yet again but this time at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Supplied with a balance test result document.

Almost 2 grand for a hybrid?! Nice work, looks lovely but price is pretty high. I don't even think my gt35 cost that much!?

That's in Euros,and for a new unit.

Price for a reconditioned exchange is £930 if I got the conversion right.

Wow that still seems pricey! But I suppose it's genuine bits, not Chinese...

What's the turnaround time on a rebuild?

Yeah Genuine parts and housings can cost tripple or more to the copy stuff, but also quite a bit of CNC machine engineering/time so on goes into one of these.

Curently we are saying 3-6weeks on most of our range due to high demand. Hope to lower that very soon, as only resently moved premises and finaly settled and getting upto speed now.

No one bats an eye at spending £1-2k on a Garrett/precision/efr turbo.

the same sort of quality control and r&d goes in to these. In fact I'd probably bet that more attention to detail is observed with smaller manufacturers.

Just because other turbos of a similar price range make more, doesn't mean they are better value. A bigger setup will cost more overall than a ko4 hybrid setup for obvious reasons.
Plus people should pay for quality where it really matters, save on other things.

Well said!

I like the unit, and I'm either in the market for a hybrid set up or a Garrett, not decided!

Had one of your turbo in my workshop a bit ago having the same tip made to fit the turbo.

Nice bit of kit

Waiting on the outcome on this setup :salute:

Waiting on the outcome on this setup :salute:

Unfortunately it dropped an exhaust valve, so the head was trashed and a piston. I've just purchased an AEB head that I will soon be sending off to Andrew to work his magic on again, but this time I will be replacing the standard used valves with new supertech valves
I can highly recommend both Simons and Andrews work to any forum members really can't fault there work it's spot on

That's not nice too hear dusty. Hopfully all good soon!

Here's a Go Compare shot :)

360bhp capable or it will hit 360 with mods you suggest?

We work in PS like VAG. So 355HP

As with any turbo its a link in the chain and depends on supporting hardware and fuel so on... I think this TTE360 will beat 360 personally in right hands.

We seen 335ps on our smaller TTE300 on 98/99 fuel no wmi. So really i can see this really doing well looking at the technical spec's

Need to get some dyno runs done, will get a lot more people's attention

Needs right cars too. But yeah will be interesting

The unclipped K16 turbine in TTE360 Vs. K04 TFSI used in other hybrids.

Still no dyno results? I'm itching to see something...

agreed
it's so annoying because the turbo looks phenomenal! !!

We improved the 80mm billet intake design a little.

As for results

3 out there. 1 uk, 1 Switzerland , 1 can't remember lol

UK car I think will be first. car looks on face of it a good spec. I'll share ASAP

Haha little more too it than that if you look

edit I didn't see the grooved bit you said.

What manifold is the next question?

Pro 4 doesn't look to flow enough and a ready ported chinafold are NLA

what is the result with the Pro4?
i think the best mani to this great turbo is the badger5 v2 ported to 48mm.

I will be running my tte 340 with badger 5 v2 exhaust manifold, just waiting on funds for head rebuild
although lm now considering selling my tte 340 and upgrading to the 360 looks a nice bit of kit as is the tte 340
