need help with my transit connect

i have a 55 plate transit connect and the gearbox is making a noise like a wheel bearing noise so i got under it and i uld move the passenger inner cv joint up and down slighty and im thinking it needs a new diff bearing, i want to know if i have to take the box out or can i replace the bearing without removing the box

probs be a box out job, as the bearings might need pressing into place
