As some may know I have a 2.0 tfsi dsg s line with 2010 s3 facelift and I am currently wanting an s3, I want the power and Quattro. I had my car on the dyno few months ago and I got 252bhp at the wheels, so at the fly wheel works out around 290bhp, so am guessing getting a standard s3 it's only 265 at the fly wheel so with a remap it goes to 310bhp so that's a difference in 20bhp is it really worth it or am I getting it wrong lol help.

You must be getting it wrong somewhere as surely a mapped KO3 running 200bhp before a map is not within 20bhp of a mapped KO4? There is 65bhp difference to start with! Yes I know there is additional transmission losses with quattro but I think your flywheel and wheel hp figures must be out somewhere??

Either way stage 1 2.0T vs stage 1 S3 will be and feel more than 20bhp on the road.

Are you sure that was at the fly and not the wheels?

Well a dyno is at the wheels isn't it? Guy told me where I got it dyno'd said that it was the wheels, it's 200 at the fly standard remap lest says adds 40bhp, typhoon induction says 18bhp guaranteed so a full system can't surely add 30bhp???

In your shoes, unless it's eating you up I'd hold on until you're due a change of a car. Don't just change for changes sake as I don't think it will offer enough benefit for the cost of change.

If your plan was to go balls out on the S3 and go S2+ and make a proper difference then maybe, but just swapping won't offer you much.

My view is the quattro and way it drives makes it worth it.

On twisty roads a standard S3 will have a mapped 2.0T no probs.
Think the dyno measures wheel hp but converts it to flywheel using the transmission drag after lifting off the throttle.
    Could be wrong tho.

^Correct. So fly figures are speculative at best.

    As ever on any dyno.
