    Hi

guys need a favour i'm half way through doing my suspension fitted the back no problems. Came to fitting the front and hit a problem and this is where i need the favour i can't get the bolt on top of the strut off as i don't have a 21mm cranked ring spanner and can't get hold of one anywhere local.

Is anyone willing to lend me theres so i can get it done long shot i know i'd be forever grateful. or does anyone know of other ways to get it off

    cheers

A windy gun with a 21mm socket will undo the top mount easily without needing the allen key.

However, as I don't have one, I made do with a 21mm Spark Plug socket which has a hex pattern for a spanner at the top, then I put the allen key through it. Works a treat.

    Cheers,

^ What he said ^. I actually have a socket set with a hole straight through it and the ratchet so i can use a key through the centre. But the spark plug socket thing works well as a standby

I welded a rod onto a spark plug spanner as a handle.

bit late but I filed the sides on a socket , held that with a spanner and the allen key went through the top

In the past when I've got stuck with things like this, I would drive over to our local friendly exhaust centre and ask the lads to stick their air gun on any nuts that need removing. Once loosened off, I hand tighten them back up and drive home (2 minutes away) and can then complete the job when I get home.

I sometime have to drive back to the exhaust centre for them to tighten nuts up too but a couple of quids tip keeps them happy and makes the job much easier. Now I have a compressor I don't have to worry so much, just worth bearing in mind if you do get stuck sometimes...

I did the same as fingermouse.... ground flats on a socket then used a large spanner or maybe you could grip it with molegrips
