Naturally aspirated Vs. Forced Induction (Turbo)

This battle has been going on for a long time. It seems that the market is pushing toward smaller engines with turbos again due to pressures from emissions agencies etc. Everytime the N/A catches up the F/I exceeds it... and its tit for tat.

I admire the fact that forced induction has come a long way since the 1980's and these engines are as reliable as N/A engines and sometimes the turbo's even last longer than expected. Then I also admire the fact that N/A engines produce their own power without any add ons. I was reading about "cylinder de-activation" and how Audi V8's can now take on V4 guise in an instant. I also read that... BMW are going to stop making the N/A engine. I wonder if Audi will resurrect it and give F/I engines a battle again.

Wondering what everyone's views are... if you have a moment, if you're bored or have any thoughts to add please go ahead...
