    Heres the list.....
I get to work from home, I have a big expense account, I earn enough to be in the higher tax bracket, I can get out of bed at 7.55 and be in the office at 8.00, I set my own working hours, I can watch tv or play on the internet whenever I want, 40p per mile when I use the car, they pay me to buy an Audi, my work uniform is Reebok sweat pants and a Tee Shirt, company credit card, occasional business lunches, corporate days out, no stress,

    You pick one.

I am a project manager for a large company in the building industry. Bit of a change from my previous job, tactical weapons instructor. I loved that one too, shooting guns and teaching people how to kill. With lots of freebies from H&K, Oakley, Helly Hansen and Browning firearms thrown in.

Well unfortunately as part of my job I have to live on a multi-million pound motor yacht in Mediterranean Spain. Its a chore taking it out every now and then to make sure the hull stays clean (sometimes with some rather lovely ladies for company). Same goes for the jet ski and the zodiac jet boat that we have on board. Mind you the opportunity to go out in power boats that can do 90mph on water is quite nice....

    Lifes a bitch eh...? :jester:

The greatest thing about my job is that I don't have one. I'm retired. I can do what I like when I like. I still go into an office one day a week for around 6 hours and do some work on spreadsheets, but it's as a volunteer for a charity.

I have enough of a pension to be able to live as I want and still have enough to buy a new Audi every now and then.

    Working on my own.

Employing people is a ball breaker cause they dont give a feck about you & dont appreciate anything you do even when you pay them alot more than market rates, even with mobile & car use for free so no tax on these.

I always never understood why we pay extra tax on top of there tax when we're giving them a damn job in the 1st place & they arent on the dole, seriously wrong.

I'm a full time student! Means I can do almost anything I like! But, I do have a part time job working at a restaurant, so free food and drinks! :D

NHN, I can understand a little bit of your frustration, I work for my uncle so I tend to try and be as much help to the family business as possible, but we also have some slack ass workers, I would sack them myself but I don't run the place.

    Hmm...let me see...
I have no daily drive to do - I go to work by helicopter.
I have a 2 minute walk (or lift ride) from my room to work.
I have my room cleaned, food cooked (as much as you want...and pretty much whatever you want...but sadly no beer!), clothes washed etc for me, for 2 weeks.
I don't need to shave, or dress to impress anyone.
I earn a damn good wage with decent perks.
And after 2 weeks I get to have 3 full weeks off.

The two weeks away are fairly good - we are well looked after - but the 3 weeks off every month are brilliant.

So, the best bit for me is the time off.

I have today started employed after being self employed for 18months, so its been hard, buuuuttt, my office is en route to the Uni, so I get all the lovely ladies strolling past! After working from home, it lost its appeal after a while, as I miss interacting with people, although I do miss falling out of bed into my office after a night on the pi$$!
So, to summarise, the girls! Let's hear it for the girls! :thrashi:

I'd guess you're a rig worker, possibly Aberdeen area? It's a guesstimate on my part as my bro used to fly the rigs as a pilot and your job description fits the bill.

Also, he tought the guy that flew the recent chopper that went down (gearbox failure) - god rest their souls.

    Its a hard life

    Spot on, sir!

    Very unpleasant...
The Miller Platform is closest to us and there was a Service to remember those who died on Thursday, 1 minutes silnece etc.
Pretty upsetting when you can see the boat laying the wreath.

I didn't know anybody on it, but some were local to the area...and it's easy sometimes to forget quite why the wages are good - because of the risk involved in the job, and getting there.

    You are not wrong.
It's a hard life...but for the sake of our failing economy and the energy needs of the nation, I'll take one for the team and go to work! :lmfao:

I just saw the Aberdeenshire bit on your profile haha that makes me feel a bit stupid!

It's worrying thinking about it and how things may have panned out under different circumstances and if my bro hadn't been offered a new job.

hmm well thats an easy one for me... I appear to be the highest skilled member of my team so I am the go-to guy. Which always makes me smile..

I spend most of my time developing a website for internal use.. So it's my baby, I can do what I want with it...

I enjoy my job, and the fact it enables me to drive an audi at my age :)

This may sound a bit strange, but the bit of my job I'm really enjoying at the moment is that it is 20 miles away from home and I get to commute on my bicycle. It's not too far to knacker me out but far enough to do me some good. If it's pouring down, I defer back to the train. I did 15 return trips / 600 miles in April (which is more than I did in either of my cars!).
